MONDAY MEANDERINGS

I do hope your weekend went well.

We survived the latest rain storm in our area.  There were the usual areas of flooding in our back and side yards.

Thankfully the pumps did their job.

And this is no longer the view today.

On another note:

Since many of you bloggers have been talking about journals for this new year of 2026, I thought I would show you my goal too.

I won this lovely blank journal from Shug and I just love it.

I am titling mine "Lessons and Blessings" for 2026 like several of you have indicated.

I probably won't make it a daily journal but it will be a special place to document Life this year.

I am excited to get started and be committed to writing on a regular basis.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

I have a new journal too. I always enjoy the start of a new one and wonder what it will contain.

Oh that’s pretty, Sue. I no longer keep a book journal. Instead I have a blog journal for my eyes only. 👀 Put a keyboard within my reach and I’m more comfortable. It’s been several years now and I enjoy it. I also use my phone for prayer requests. I can set alarms to go off when it’s time for me to pray at a certain time for someone’s surgery, appointment etc. Technology can be used for His glory!

Did you guys get that wind storm? Man it was constant for about 24 hours.

I need to start journaling again.

I love how there are "Lessons and Blessings" journals popping up throughout the land! Mine may be less of a journal and more a landing strip for meaningful prose and morsels ... but it all counts, right?

Ha! Your zebra made me laugh.
I love that you won that journal from Shug. I know journaling will be a blessing to you.

Your journal from Shug is very nice. And I love the words on the cover. Having a journal is so special to write our thoughts and feelings, and I hope you enjoy recording all the day to day moments in yours. You got so much rain, and a little flooding. We've had rain for five days, and our slushy rain today turned into snow! First snowfall of the season, and I am loving it. I like the last quote you shared, thank you. I hope you don't get any damage to your house from the flooding. Take care. : )

That zebra is so cute. You sure did get a lot of rain. The journal is pretty. I've tried writing in one several times. I get a couple days in and then I usually forget about it

I LOVE that zebra! Your backyard looked flooring - you are okay now? What a sweet gift from Shug. I love to journal.

The journal is beautiful, and what a good idea! No need to write about every boring day, just the things that really matter and you do not want to forget.

the grin on the zebra and your grin on the sidebar, greeted me and made me smile.. I am like Ann, I have a diary, that is what is now called a journal, at 16 and it has only 5 pages written on. that was the last one I tried. I consider my blog a journal of our daily life, and had not thought about doing what Debby does, having a private one. Now is not the time to add anything but I will try to remember it.

Journals are a good idea, especially given that Trump's wars might get us nuked and it's important to have written records for the survivors.

Awe...I love that you are enjoying your journal. I have a strong weakness when it comes to journals. Hope when I pass, that my kiddos won't just throw them out..I have a lot of wisdom (lol) written in those journals and it would do them all good to read them. I can't believe how much rain you all have had. My son-in-law works in Northern California and he said it is still raining there. I'm sure it is needed, but when it rains everyday, you can end up with big issues. Hoping you have a fabulous 1st full week of January...love you!

Glad to read you made it through all of the rain.
