YES !! WE DID GET RAIN ...

We got 24 hours of steady rain yesterday.  We are very thankful for it.

I believe the total was 1.5 inches..not gobs but enough to water everything and OF COURSE drop more leaves on our freshly cleaned up lawn and driveway ... HaHa ...

Our backyard is showing its colors too.

Everything is too wet to sweep up.

Oh Phooey ... can't work out there today ... 😂

One really nice thing about working out in the front yard is the people that we meet and visit with.

We met a new gal who was out doing her daily run around the neighborhood.

In the process of talking with her she said she was enjoying being able to run on such a lovely day.  She said that where she had been serving she couldn't do that, especially in shorts and a short sleeve shirt.  In asking further we found out that she had just returned from 4 years in Iraq with the organization Samaritans Purse.

What a beautiful woman with a soul to match.  Found out she lives several blocks away from us and attends a church which is across the street from the church we attend.  Small world ... we talked almost an hour about everything, church, humanitarian work, mission trips and everything in between.

Both Dave and I felt so invigorated after our time with her.  We were blessed .

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

You have a park-like yard. So pretty.I’d be out there everyday just “sitting” and enjoying the beauty.

We had about 1.25 inches on our own rain gauge. It was truly nice and today is sunshine and tomorrow back into the 70’s’ and sunshine till we get more rain on Sunday. Still haven’t turned on the furnace except for the Monday before Halloween.

What a wonderful and inspiring meeting! Your last leaf photo is gorgeous, as is your backyard. I actually think the leaves on the driveway look colorful and pretty. But it can be dangerous to slip on.

What a fabulous looking tree! If I lived there I'd probably spend most of my day gazing outside.
God certainly put you in the right place at the right time, meeting that lady. Each of you, so blessed.

Sam and I were just talking about California getting rain..,I am so thankful for you guys!! It is much needed for your area. What a sweet Blessing to have a visitor stop by and have a conversation with you and Dave. There really are a lot of friendly people in the world who are just looking for kindness. Enjoy all the rain and worry about any falling leaves later... big hugs and love.

I'm sure she has lots of interesting stories to tell about her time in Iraq, she sounds like a decent person in light of doing charity in a poor country...if you want an eye opener, look up photographs "Iraq before an after" the wars perpetrated by the West destroyed that country for years, all for oil. Fallujah still has cancer, birth defects from the wests' use of illegal depleted uranium bombs on civilians. SMH

How nice to be able to meet people like that. If I'm out in my front yard and someone goes by they don't even look in my direction.

Such wonderful colors!

Iraq? I bet she has stories to tell. God bless her.

OMG, I'm genuinely so thrilled you finally got that steady rain. You know that feeling when the drought breaks and everything just sighs? That's giving major relief energy.

Those trees in your backyard are brilliant with Autumn color. What a nice visit you had with the woman in your neighborhood. And I'm glad you got some steady rain! That's always a good thing - cleans everything up and refreshes again. Thank you for this lovely post this morning.
