Our Camellia bush is finally starting to pop. I went out this morning to capture a few shots.
This pretty bloom was peeking through the leaves with our pistachio tree showing its colors. Be sure to enlarge the photos. The detail really shows up better.
Then I focused on what I have been calling my Manzanita tree for the last 18 years.
Found out it's a Madrone bush or tree that sits right outside my dining room window ... my "office".
The Madrone is also called a Strawberry Tree due to the fruit that grows besides its gorgeous flowers. The fruit certainly does look like strawberries as it ripens to a brilliant red color.
The bell shaped flowers are so lovely hanging like bunches of grapes.
Bees go wild for them as do the hummers.

Camelia's are so pretty! I wish they grew around here. I've never heard of a madrone tree but it's a pretty one too!
They do look like grapes. But the Camellia, oh my!!! It is gorgeous. I have never seen one, and there are none growing around here.
Unusual growing's out there - I don't know much, but the Camelia's are gorgeous!
Both of these are so pretty
Those “grapes” are gorgeous for sure. I have never seen such trees you featured today. Thank you for sharing!
Very pretty. Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a wonderful week.
it really is a beautiful tree, and yes, it does look like grapes. Outside your office window is the perfect place to bring you joy. Trees, all trees make me happy.
Wow, I've never seen anything like this before!
Oh, I love camellias, and wish I still had some here. I had a lot of them at our last house, which I planted myself. When we moved away from there I wish I had dug them up and brought them with me because the current owners have cut down or dug up every tree, plant, flower in that yard that I planted! So sad! The other tree you have is so unusual! I've never seen that before, and it is certainly beautiful, and yes, they do look like grapes before they turn into what looks like strawberries! Do you eat the fruit from that tree? Just wondering what they must taste like! This was lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us.
The Camellia is beautiful!
Your Camellia tree is beautiful. I've always loved this flower. And the strawberry tree is delightful. I am wondering if the fruit is edible. How nice that you can see it looking outside your dining room window. These are lovely pictures today. Have a pleasant November week

Seeing this camellia tree made me recall the ones we had in our VA neighborhood and even one by the side of our front porch. Sadly, it had to be removed as the roots were damaging the porch suport.
Beautiful photos of plants all new to me. I don't think I've ever seen a camelia tree and that's not at all what I thought they would look like. For some reason I thought camelias were white flowers.
The madrona and its fruit is lovely. I've never heard of it before. Is the fruit edible?
They look just like grapes! You're right, they do. Very cool.
Good Happy Morning.... I saw one of those trees a couple of years ago when we visited our grandson and family out in California. We had never seen one before and oh my goodness... it was beautiful. My FIL had several camellia bushes and they always bloomed so heavily. Most of his were white blooms, which are beautiful until they start to turn brown. Is the fruit on the strawberry tree edible? I've missed you even though I was the one gone...lol. Have a super Blessed day... hugs
