First of all, yes we did get some rain during the night.
Not the "storm" we had been warned about, but the mountains did get some snow.
That's a great start for the season.
In California, every 2 years, when we are registering and paying our license fees at the DMV we also have to have our car Smog tested. Its to control the emissions from the cars.
Well our car is OLD... and the check engine light came on. We knew that wasn't a good sign for passing.
We got it tested anyway. Here is the result.
More money flying out of our empty pockets ...
The red line says we needed an EGR gizmo. I called our son Steve and said help ... what do we do?
He looked on Amazon and found the correct Valve and we ordered it.
We asked our Daughter in Laws brother if he was able to install that thing.
Bless his heart, when he was in town for an appointment he came over and with in an half an hour we were in business. I am so grateful for people who know what they are doing. To me it was daunting and I didn't even know what that thing was or where it went under the hood.
Dave took the car into the Smog Genie place yesterday and PTL, it passed the Re-test.
Just ignore this picture below. Somehow I can't delete it. Sigh I'm so non-techie.
Now we can get our tags and be Legal..
We are so grateful to have people in our lives that can help us when we don't know how to do something ourselves.
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind

Very grateful you have people in your world to help you with this. That is wonderful. As for the deleting images. Blogger was giving me problems and then I went to the bottom of a photo and hit backspace and the image got removed. Not sure if that will work for you or not. Tossing it out there just in case.
Woo Hoo...for rain. I love how the rain refreshes the Earth.
We do not have this in Texas where you have to have your car tested for fog. Actually, this year, they did away with having to have your car inspected before getting it registered. Thank goodness.
You know..there are a lot of good people in the world and this was a big blessing to be able to get the help. I would not have known what to do, but thank goodness, Sam is up to date on mechanical work. Snow in the mountains sounds so good to me!! My kiddos get tickled at me when I talk about the weather in California or Florida or wherever my dear friends live...
What a blessing they are to you! I would not have known a thing about it, either.
Well, I know you need rain. I would not know what that was and I have no one to ask and no money to pay - but you know what - it's all okay. lol
You have a good son and other good people around you, Sue. I am glad you were able to get your car repaired with their help!
Glad you got some rain!
I'm sorry you have to deal with that testing, but you have good people to help!
Glad to hear you received rain AND you have wonderful people to help you!
Hooray for rain and for people who can fix cars. It's nice to have someone who can take care of things like that for you. I don't trust taking it to some of the garages.
It's shameful how governments at this point just stealing from people. If they would stop giving money to Israel and the military industrial complex, then maybe they wouldn't have to fleece the tax payers at every turn.
Whew! I'd have had no idea, and most likely fallen prey to the $$$ professionals. Thank goodness for good-hearted people who make time to bless others!
I'm glad you received some rain and were finally able to pass your DMV smog test. What a relief.
I'm so happy you got some much needed rain! What a blessing! And oh, how wonderful that you have family who can help with those little jobs. I know they sound so big when we don't know what to do or how to do it. Praise God it's fixed and you are good to go for another year! Great news. Have a blessed rest of your week. We are heading out in the morning for the mountains and hopefully some nice fall weather. I think I'm ready! Tally Ho!
Glad that you got some rain. It is wonderful to have family and friends who are willing to help us oldies. Our financial advisor helped us this morning. we had a zoom meeting and then we had to digitally sign some papers. She was so patient with us. It is such a blessing when people understand oldies.
Sorry about not passing the test but how nice that you were able to get it fixed by your daughter in laws brother.
this was a God send, so happy you could get it fixed with out paying a mechanic.. we are in the hemorrhaging funds race with you. ha ha
