FLASHBACK FRIDAY
The last 2 weeks have been very busy. I wanted to share a fun evening Dave and I had recently.
Our very good friend invited us to be her guests at her fundraiser.
Shanti Landon is running for a second term as the Placer County Supervisor of her district.
She has done such an amazing job as Supervisor in her first term, that to me its a no-brainer to have her in this position again.
The one thing that's interesting about this is we aren't in her district and can't vote for her.
We just talk about her where ever we go and give our input.
She is an amazing woman with a wonderful testimony. She Walks the Walk and Talks the Talk.
The fundraiser was held in Lincoln, CA in an old historical school house from 1888. It is called the Fruitvale Schoolhouse. The school closed in 1946 as the population changed and the school had outgrown the building.
Its now used as an event location.

This is so cool that she has personalized fortune cookies! And the old school is wonderful. I love the ceiling lights!
I love old school houses and this one looks like a beauty. Sounds like a fun event! I hope she wins a second term.
That school-house venue looks so cool! And the personalized "fortune" cookies is such a novel idea. I'm so glad y'all were able to attend and lend support to Shanti and her hubby. Let us know, won't you?
What a great place to have as an event space. I also love the fortune cookies. Thank you for linking up. I do appreciate it.
Looks like a great place to have a meeting/fundraiser. I love all the old desks!! And I wish we could vote for her too. I'm sure she's the best!!! Because you said so, and I know you know what's best!! have a blessed weekend.
I love that school house - a great place to meet. She sure looks like a nice person. Walking the talk is a tough thing to do.
When I was living in San Mateo, one of my favorite neighbors moved to Lincoln. Anyway, I love the one fortune “… vote for her. She’s normal” 😂 Very cute idea with the fortune cookies.
Cute school house.
I'm loving the cookies! Lolol...too cute.
She seems special in this crazy world...hope she wins!
hugs

Those fortunes are such a neat idea. A shame you aren't able to vote for her. That schoolhouse looks like a really neat place.
Your friend sounds like a treasure. Hope she wins!
the schoolhouse is much like ours here in the historical village. just being there helps her and your talking great things helps too. she sounds like a real winner and I hope she does win
Thank you, Suzan, for featuring my event! We were so happy to have you and Dave there. I agree, the Schoolhouse is a special, unique place. Thank you so much for all of your support!!
Hey...what a fabulous idea for the fortune cookie!! I am impressed with this... How nice that you and Dave were invited to attend, but sad that you can't vote for her. Goodness, the old schoolhouse sure looks sweet. Those were the days when life was somewhat normal. I sure wish her the best on her political race.. We need good, honest people in office. Thanks Sue for sharing the photos..I sure enjoyed them. Raining here today...much needed though!!
She wants to be Supervisor. What will she be supervisor of? Schools? Hospitals? The town?
Hi! A county supervisor is an elected official who serves on a county's board of supervisors, acting as the legislative and executive body for the county (there are 5 Supervisors in each county in California, except for LA and San Fran, they have more). We are responsible for making decisions on local policies, approving budgets, and overseeing services such as public safety, health, land use and infrastructure.
I'm digging those desks. Very cute. Sorry that you can't vote for your friend, it is nice that you can help support and cheer her on though. Cool beaners.
She sounds lovely. So glad she is your friend. So sorry you can't vote for her.
Love the picture of the classroom with flag and alphabet on the blackboards, and the one of the school bell. And what a novel fortune cookie idea.
Shanti has a beautiful smile, and sounds like she is a good supervisor. Hope she gets re-elected. Let us know.
