THANKFUL THURSDAY

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Monday evening Dave wasn't feeling so good so I said I would go out and turn off the sprinklers for him.

Well the hose and I got tangled and down I went! Right on our cement walkway...

Right down on both knees and kind of banged up my arms a bit too.  The worst of the damage is to my left knee...its the one that always seems to take the brunt of any disaster.

Being 81 makes a fall that much harder.  I was really shook up and after checking everything out I confirmed that I was Still Alive and nothing was broken ... no blood ...

Next on the agenda ... how do I get up from that position ???

It was the only time I went out without my phone.  It was still on the arm of my chair.

There was nothing to grab on to to use as a brace.  Believe me I did some desperate praying and managed to do it..oh it was not a pretty sight but up I got.

All that to say, I thank the Lord for sparing me.  I am turning some lovely shades of black and blue.

And so, life goes limping on.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Aging is tuff. I'm there with you. I hope you heal soon.

Oh no I will send up a prayer. You are not kidding - it is so much harder on us the older we get. I try to be so careful these days. Hugs.

Ouch!
I’ve had to have two surgeries due to falls. I try to be careful but sometimes falls come out of left field. I hope you heal fast. 🥰

Oh you poor darling. I'm so sorry. I hate bruises and those you have must be so painful. I hoping you stay in your chair all weekend and let others take care of you. I found "Lanicane patches" really help when my knees give me pain. I'm pacing myself, and having Walmart deliver groceries so I don't have to carry heavy things up the stairs. Not ready to live downstairs. So love our unit.

YES, so grateful you did not break anything!! You did so good! I cannot get up at all. Once I fell in front of the house and finally a delivery man came by and picked me up.

Ooooh noooo! I, too, have been humbled by gravity. Getting down on the kitchen floor is easy, it's the getting back up that's ugly-funny. So grateful nothing was broken.
It's not military, but I think you deserve a 💜.

OH no! I am so sorry! I KNOW how that hurts, and also what a blow to our pride as well! I know you will be stiff and sore over this for a few days. Praise God nothing was broken! That was a close one! Yes, I have learned to take my cell phone with me everywhere I go these days, even to the bathroom!!! It's like a "medic alert" bracelet! Again, I am so thankful you are okay, but sorry you had to fall in the first place. (((Hugs)))
