A DAY OF SURPRISES AND BLESSINGS

Do you see this happy smile on my face?

Yesterday morning I got a text from my long time friend Marlene.  She said she and her Husband Dave were in town.  They were on their way to visit our friends Lynne and Karen, and wanted to take Karen and my Dave and I out for lunch.

We have known this couple for over 50 years and have been in each other's lives for so long but we haven't physically seen them for 9 years.  We jumped at the chance to get together and met them at our local restaurant.

We talked, ate and laughed a lot.  Many years to catch up on.  As I have said before, there is nothing like big bear hugs to make all the years disappear.

Marlene and Karen.
Karen used to babysit Marlene and Dave's 5 kids ... who are all grown now and have kids of their own.

Good times

What a wonderful couple of hours.  At least the restaurant was cool since it was 99F outside.

Then
When we got home I looked in our backyard and guess what?
Our jungle of weeds in the back corner were ALL GONE !
Our neighbor Rob had whacked them down while we were gone!
And in that heat too...

This view is so awesome.  We can see all the way to Rob's corner of the property.
The poor lawn isn't very good in our dry state but its ALL Good !

Praising the Good Lord for all of our blessings.
We have connected with so many people lately.
It just fills my heart to overflowing.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Hooray for good friends and fun and food and fellowship...all the good f's of life! LOL. Love the happy smiles on your faces. I can almost hear you all laughing and talking all the way across the country! And then to have someone bless you by whacking down those pesky weeds! Now that's a good neighbor and friend! You've had a great day in spite of the hot weather! God is Good! All the Time, God is good!! Amen.

Oh, how I love the expression on your face, Sue! These images, for sure, are worth 1,000 words ... or more. Offhand, I can't think of a thing that beats good food, friendship and the gift of gab!
Your neighbor is a saint!
Big hugs!

I loved opening your blog and seeing your beautiful smile. Double Blessings for you all ... The best kind of day is when you are able to get hugs from those you have loved for so long and then coming home to see that a neighbors kindness has blessed you BIG. Sue...you do have a beautiful smile!! This post made me smile too...

It is wonderful to be able to spend time with good friends that you don't see too often. It looks like you all had a wonderful time and even nicer to come home and find a cleared yard area. It was a very good day all around !
