Dave and I went the WinCo Grocery Store yesterday.
We hadn't shopped there for several months.
Talk about Sticker Shock !
This store is usually even cheaper than Walmart ... Not Yesterday..
Fortunately we had bought our eggs at Costco over the weekend. Costco only had large eggs in a box of 5 dozen (60 eggs) for $ 17.99
Since we eat a lot of eggs this is the best deal for us.
So when we went down the dairy aisle at WinCo I couldn't believe my eyes.
Local box of 5 dozen Medium eggs ... $39.38 !!!
18 count of large eggs ... $11.99
1 dozen large eggs ... $8.12
Holy Moly
Crazy California
Petaluma eggs are from about 2 hours drive from us and are really good.
The City of Petaluma became known as the Egg Capital of the World because of its grain milling and chicken processing industries.
The slogan is "Fertile Ground For The Good Life"
But .. I am not going to spend $40.00 for eggs!
Always be Thankful
Always be Kind

I simply can not believe the price of eggs. I feel very fortunate because our guy that mows our yard brings me 18 eggs every week for Free. This is a huge Blessing.
It's the new "Gold" in California. Instead of the Gold rush, it's the EGG rush. Our dear daughter Julie brought me three dozen from Costco yesterday! Not cheap!!
The Egg Rush from Wanda is funny. I have to say here in GA, not too bad.
The price at Costco is not bad, considering what they cost elsewhere. I just bought a dozen large eggs at our store for $5.79.
I like the egg rush too!
It is crazy right now. It's because of the bird flu. They have lost so many chickens. Not sure when the prices will get better. It's very sad.
Egg prices are crazy. I spent over $9 for an 18 pack last week. I've heard that they don't expect prices to get better any time soon
what will you do with 60 eggs? we only use a dozen a week, and you can't freeze eggs, can you? I paid 5.97 for a dozen large eggs in Walmart last week, the week before 6.97 and the week before that they had no eggs at all... Publix is 8.97 for a dozen. I don't bake, so no need for eggs, bob was eating 2 a day, but went to one a day about 5 months ago. he has to have eggs for breakfast. I just did a Google search and it says can store for 3 to 5 weeks in fridge that is 40 and under. I did not know that..
I eat 2 a day and use them for baking and I hard boil a lot of them for salads and sandwiches. They do last 3 to 5 weeks in the fridge so it works out pretty well and is more economical in the long run. We often share some with our son too.

Whoa, that's insane! Unlike Tom, I love eggs and could eat 1 or 2 every day. I think last week we paid a little under $7 for a dozen 'jumbo' -- but there's no guarantee it won't increase. If only I didn't like them so much!
