This past week our nephew Mike received a wonderful award.
Mike is a Deputy Sheriff for the Butte County Sheriff's Department.
He and another Deputy received medals for Meritorious Service and Outstanding performance with Conspicuous bravery in the line of duty.
There was an accidental shooting of a 6 year old little girl. Before the EMS arrived they administered life-saving aid and were able to place a medical chest seal on her.
She has since made a full recovery.
In the photo, Mike is on the left hand side. We are so proud of Mike and his commitment to safety and saving lives.

Wow, people like him really make the world go round. What would we do without brave men like him?
Congratulations and well done to your nephew. We need more officers like that and there are many of them out there we just don't hear about the good ones so glad you posted this
That shows his good raising! I wish everyone could hear more about the good that police do, instead of the bad.

Congratulations to your nephew, well done.... but I have to comment that guns, especially a loaded one, should be nowhere near a 6 year old girl.
