THANKFUL THURSDAY

Do you ever get so confused ordering something on line that you end up with multiple charges on your checking account?

Well we did yesterday.

In trying to order something it first didn't like our credit card..(who knows why)

So we input it again and it stopped us half way through the process..of course there was no place to cancel anything..GRR

After 3 failed attempts we gave up only to have our bank call us about possible fraud on our account.  Round and round in circles we (Dave and I) went.  So thankful for a very patient man that tried to cleared things up for us.

Then we went to WalMart to shop for some things.  Went to the scan your own and when I went to put the credit card in it said decline.  So I tried it again and it said declined.  Believe me I was getting shaky by this time.

Fortunately I had just enough cash to pay for the things.  I couldn't wait to get home and just decompress.

When we got home I looked at the debit card..it was Dave's that I had tried to use with my pin number.  No wonder it didn't take it.  I had inadvertinely picked up his card instead of mine in the whole thing we were dealing with on the phone..UGH

I need a vacation!!!

This morning when looking at my statement all the charges were gone and things are clean again.

All that to say I find things like this shake me up more than ever since I am in my "Older" years.  I do all the banking and hate math..Wonderful combination don't you think?

So that is why I'm posting this quote from Max Lucado .

OK now Onward and Upward...

I can relate when it comes to ordering. My husband has more success than I do.

I hear you! Seems the older I get, (soon to be 72), the less I'm paying attention to such things. I really need to turn that around!
Glad you got things cleaned up!!
Happy weekend!

I always go into panic mode when something like this happens. so happy you found the young man that could and would help. I am not happy with the new debit cards that can be swiped or tapped on the marker with no code needed, theives can just swipe it now. or tap charge and no code is needed

Oh Sue. So glad is cleared up!! Been there done that. I hardly ever use my Macy's card but have it in my wallet. A few months ago, Michel and I were in Macy and she saw a cute pair of shoes she thought I would like. I did, and since I didn't have cash decided to use my Macy's card. When when she scanned it, she said because I had not used it in over a year, they would have to reinstate it. Fine!!! So I get the new card, buy the shoes, and when the bill comes, I paid it on line. (However the new card had a different number which I didn't notice) So when I paid it on line on the old card, it didn't register. So I start getting late notices that I haven't paid the bill. It took 2 weeks, 4 phone calls and some rude customer service people to finally straighten it out!!! I get made every time I wear those dang shoes!!! HaHaI loved the Quote!!

We lead a very complicated life, with pin numbers and passcodes, etc... Be gentle with yourself.

It is easy to get muddled with ordering and using cards when you get older. I do all our banking and accounts and I hope I can keep doing it for a long time.

I wanted to purchase something online a few minutes ago. I don't pay with my credit card, I want an invoice together with the product when I unpack it, which they offer. It hasn't worked. So no deal. Sometime I will go into town and find a store where I can get what I want.

And yes, it's just thoughts that cause us troubles.

Have anice weekend!

Bravo for bravely working through the challenges the computerized world presents to us precomputer babies. I just beg Hubby to figure out the techie stuff or just abandon the effort. ARGGGGH! I miss every one!

Sometimes, just waiting a day or so can make all the difference, Sue, as it seems that was the case with your credit card issues. Currently, we are having an "issue" that is tech-related and rather than call today, I have decided to wait 24 hours. Good to read that your issues were sorted out.

Paying for things with cards can be troublesome at times. Cash is easier, but hardly ever used anymore. Thanks for linking up and have a great week.
