Friday night was a bittersweet evening for Dave and I.
After about 12 years or so, we officially turned in our aprons.
We have volunteered by serving desserts and full meals for around 12 or 13 years.
The time finally came to turn the responsibilites over to someone else.
Age and just Life in general has a way of changing things.
We haven't given it up completely and will help out on occasion but the weekly business is done.
Our Small Group even came to help us celebrate and the whole CR attendees gave us a really nice dessert send off. They also gave us a generous "Love Gift"
This photo is of our small group bible study group minus 2 of the members...which were out of town.
Here's our cake...minus a few pieces.
We realized that we hadn't taken a photo after we started cutting the cake.
So we pieced together the one with my name on it and
Called it GOOD !! haha
We will miss the people and seeing all the transformed lives.
We will always have our Forever Family.
Forever grateful.

Thats wonderful. Getting ready to leave for church...Don is doing good. Will catch up with you later!
They must all really love you both!!
Well done, you two! Nice that you can continue to stay in touch.
It's always bittersweet...these parties, the camaraderie is good and healing in a way, but when life & time changes, we must also.
Yes, I will take a small piece of cake please!!
I think it was probably time and you can still go and visit once in awhile. I know it was a lot of fun and the cake is really pretty and I like that picture of all of you together looking so happy.
Everything comes to an end...but at least you'll stay a tiny bit active!
Love the cake!
hugs

Wonderful that you were able to do this for so long. All good things come to an end. Thanks for linking up.
Wow that was great for you to volunteer for all that time. I can imagine it's bittersweet but you two stepping down will give you more time to enjoy life and let two others take your place and enjoy giving the way you did.
((Hugs)) You should be so proud of yourselves. What a wonderful thing you have been doing for over 12 years.
Congrats on your "retirement" Sue and Dave, although I am sure it was bittersweet for you both as you have helped many during your 12 years. However, as you said, there comes a time when all good things come to an end. Time is so fleeting and now you will have more time to enjoy doing things together, which is just as wonderful.
