I love lighthouses. A wonderful memory was visiting the Portland Lighthouse in Portland Maine. A couple in our church made their honeymoon visiting lighthouses along the coast and staying in some!!! How fun would that be?

We still have quite a few lighthouses here on the BC coast, but sadly none are manned. Everything has been automated. In the early years they provided a safety net for mariners in addition to their lighthouse duties. - Margy
