SKYWATCH FRIDAY

Hubby and I spent the afternoon at Lake Tahoe, last Monday.

This was before the lastest wildfire near Yosemite pushed it's
acrid smoke into the Basin.

We were waiting for sunset and hoping the slight smoke would
add interest to the sky.
The sunset really didn't turn the sky red like I thought it would.

You can see the hazy smoke a bit in the lower right corner and the
shadow of the clouds.

Enlarging the photo will show the detail.

That smoke is visible even without enlarging that beautiful photo! Glad you had more blue sky than smoky, but that Yosemite fire is just awful! They all have been. We had several days of smoky skies here (probably from the fires in ID and MT), but we were surprised they really didn't give us very colorful sunrises and sunsets. What they did was color the rising sun deep red (eerie) and the moon bright orange (even when it was high in the sky). It's cleared back up - at least for now. Sure hope it does out there, too!

I just read your previous post about your flag. The same thing happened to me.... I had a Canadian flag on a flagpole outside our front door, proudly flying for Canada Day (July 1) and the next morning it was gone. I looked around the neighbourhood but didn't see it anywhere, it would have been easy to recognise at the pole had a big brass knob on the end that was originally part of a curtain rod. I hope whoever took it enjoys it!!!!

I always feel guilty when I am enjoying the beauty of a sunset and learn that the clouds are actually smoke from a fire. Still, there's no denying its beauty.

Oh! What a glorious sky! I love it!
I am so glad you are able to go on many adventures with your husband. It is good you have so much love. You give me hope for the future. Sometimes marriage seems so hard.
