ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " W "

WE are WENDING our WAY to the end of the alphabet.
Today's letter is " W ".
The first photo is the WEATHERED WORN WOODEN WAGON WHEEL.
Enough said!!

Queen WILLAMINA'S WINDMILL
in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California
has finally been refurbished and its WORKING again.
The WINDMILL shows WONDERFUL WORKMANSHIP.

I WANTED to show the WINGED horse WEATHER vane called Pegasus.
It looks as though he is making his WAY WESTWARD. WHOA !

WE WATCHED an exciting WHEELCHAIR Basketball game
during the annual Access to Health Fair at our church.
The disabled men and WOMEN never WAIVERED and had the WILL to WIN.
I really don't know how they moved so quickly and WERE so accurate.
They may not be able to WALK but they had the moves.
WILL you go to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar and see WHAT others WANTED to post for the letter " W "?

You had many interesting photos and "W"-words this time, but my favourite this time is the first one. A bit then and now and to the point.

A great mix of photos to illustrate the day. Love the sepia tones in the wooden wagon wheel shot. I've always thought the world should have Pegasus horses.

Clever you are!! Finding all thw right W words. BTW is the Willamina's Windmill named after our Queen Wilhelmina? My christian name is also Wilhelmina. When this queen ruled over the Netherlands, many girls were called Wilhelmina.

Reader Wil said...

Thank you!Queen Wilhelmina's reign lasted from 23 November 1890 – 4 September 1948. During the war she was in London and her only child, Princess Juliana was in Canada with her family.

Nice collection of 'W's. I could have posted Wagon Wheel too. My son has one in his front yard -- a wagon, that is.
Great assortment.

The wheel has seen better days and yet it jolts the memory, for sure. Love the windmill and Pegasus (how wonderful it would be to have him soaring over the house)!

came via Reader's wil's site that Australia is my second home.

When my mum first arrived to live in Oz, they were living in the hills of the Gold coast. My brother had a big section, almost a small farm. But he didn't grow anything.

Mum made dad dig a big patch for her and she grew corn. Mum used the precious Oz water, and when the corn was 3 inches tall, mum was so happy.

My sis-in-law ( Kiwi gal) heard mum went ##@@$$!!!!. She thought my parents were arguing.

Mum was cursing the kangaroos who ate all her crop.
