Carmi's theme at Written Inc. for this week is Yellow.
California has started its fire season weeks early with the horrendous wild fires in the Santa Barbara area.
These yellow packs are part of the firefighting equipment the men and women wear as they go in to put the hot spots out.
So many million dollar homes and property have been destroyed by the wind driven flames.

Oh my, California surely has more than its share of fires, doesn't it.
South Carolina on our side of the country recently lost a lot of homes from a fire.
It is so dry here that there are a lot of brush fires that pop up here and there.

Yep, definitely the "fire season". It's horrifying. Hope the Santa Barbara fire dies down soon.

I know a fellow who fights fires in the fire season, from MI. It's frightening. But sometimes I think we should have homes in areas where Nature is doing its thing so violently.
one of those shots that make you stop and count your blessings.
My husband is a retired fire fighter. However, he was a city and structure fire professional. Those guys that fight the wild fires have an even scarier job.
Good choice, but I can't help but think of Santa Barbara, CA on fire as I type.

It is so sad to see those fires in Santa Barbara. Nice yellow-themed photo. Is that equipment used for breathing or to keep cool? I have no clue.
