Another trip into my archives. Saw this doorway in Orlando, Florida a few years ago and thought it would be an interesting shot to take. Don't know anything about it but I like the primitive feel.
Remember to enlarge the shot to see the detail.
I'm having so much fun looking at the world through the lens of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I will share my world of Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West. Come and enjoy with me.

Definitely an interesting door. I wonder who lives there. I'm sure I would've photographed it as well.
The interesting thing is, Highway 61, didnt go to Florida. Hwy 61 is one of those famous highways like Route 66(see my blog)
une porte surprenante, on dirait des poèmes sur la porte
A door surprisingly, it looks like poems on the door
ADOORring photo.
Quick quiz2 now up.
Hey Phowan,
We could have seen this door, because we visited Orlando ( many years ago) nice picture his is!
Greetings have a good week,:)
This picture makes me wonder a lot of things. I wonder what the story is behind this!
Nice. People took some time to put the sign there.
VERY INterESTing!!!!!!
;)
So where did Highway 61 go to? I'll have to look it up in the map book. I really like this photo, clever you for spotting it.
I love that. I've never seen highway 61 in Florida. Maybe the person was lost.
Hm, would be interesting to know the story here. It's almost like they wanted to choose another path but it was all they knew...most curious. :)
Glad you are feeling well!
Lisa
An astonishing capture. Well done!
A whole story in one sentence - a writer could make a novel out of that.
Good shot!
The door is interesting, but what makes it truly unique to me is the sign. Very tongue in cheek. :-)
I had to go and check it out, and this is what I found (and look, how very tongue in cheek that sign really was!):
Highway 61 Revisited is Bob Dylan's sixth studio album, released in 1965 by Columbia Records. It is Dylan's first album to be recorded entirely with a full rock band, after he experimented with the approach on half of Bringing It All Back Home. It is commonly tagged as documenting the "angry young man" period in Dylan's career, in-between the playfulness of its surrounding albums; many of the songs on Highway 61 are of an accusatory nature and feature rough, loud takes.
...
Highway 61, sometimes called the "Blues Highway," stretched from New Orleans through Memphis and from Iowa through Duluth (Dylan's city of birth) to the Canadian border.

almost sounds like song lyrics....
great pic, sue!

"Highway 61 Recvisited" Lyrics:
Now the rovin' gambler he was very bored
He was tryin' to create a next world war
He found a promoter who nearly fell off the floor
He said I never engaged in this kind of thing before
But yes I think it can be very easily done
We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun
And have it on Highway 61.
