Very nice photo! It makes me feel relaxing looking at those long shadows. And those blades of green grass, or whatever it is, make this photo pleasantly for looking at it.

Denton tried to explain to me how to take pictures at certain times of the day...your example here is perfect.
One of the many reasons that the best light for outdoor photography (when it's sunny) is a half hour after sunrise and a half hour before sunset.
Generally speaking, that is.
Light and shadow -- they're what photography is all about, even before considering colors.

We just got back from a 2200 mile road trip (top down most of the way) that took us through your neck of the woods. CA has some cool scenery!
Nice shot Sue. I love those long shadows of a late afternoon. I really like them in the winter across the snow. Not that we get much of that white stuff here.
Late sun and long shadows do make for dramatic photos. I can never decide which I like better dawn or dusk.
The greatest times to be outdoors, morning and evening. Not only does the low angle lighting enhance nearly every scene but wildlife is also much more active. I love the shadow play you captured here.
