ALMOST BERRY PICKING TIME
I guess this tractor has seen better days but its tangled in some lush berry vines. Soon it will be time for blackberry jam. Yummm
Something common in California and North Karelia - berries start to be ready for picking. It`s now time to pick strawberries from gardens, blueberries and raspberries from forests, cloudberries from marshes. I think, you don`t have to go to forests for picking berries, you have them in your new garden :) Red- and blackcurrants are not ready yet in this part of Finland. Nice days to you!
This is a real find with some great possibilities! Try photographing it again in late afternoon light. There are a lot of interesting detail shots on this tractor just waiting for you. Good B&W potential here too.
Nice find. I agree with John there are lots of potential images from this one spot.
In Missouri this crop of berries would also be known as a chigger haven. Seems like chiggers, blood thirsty little mini tick like critters, know people come to pick berries and congregate there in the millions and billions!
Mmmm, berries! I'm so jealous! There's no picking around here, I'm afraid, and the shops charge a fortune (like $4 or $5) for a tiny basket. I have to save my berry-eating for times I can visit friends outside the city.
Sue, Looks that tractor has seen better days! Sorry I missed your entire recap of Haiti. Last week was a bit crazy around here. Thanks for posting the faces - puts things into perspective. Paula
What a fun, rustic photo! The tangle of berry vines looks just like my backyard when my family and I first moved in. The whole large back end was bordered in a 10-foot deep wall of blackberry bushes. That summer we all hacked away at those thorny bushes for days in the California heat. It was bloody hard work but it's a great memory and now the back end is vine free.
I'm starting to wish we'd kept some remnants, though, 'cause blackberries sound quite tasty...:-)
I have a passion for photography. I use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, so come with me and see Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West.

I love blackberry picking. They always seem to get eaten before we get home though!

Love the color of the tracter. You captured it so vividly. Faded red.
Fantastic, It a good candidate for playing like this effect here.
I can't wait our next season while you enjoy yours!
Nice photo. Love berries.
Cool shot...I love the rustic feel to it.
Looks like the farmer got distracted :)
I love old farm equipment shots! Great find, good pic and I agree with John and Mike, with low angle lighting you could get some amazing shots!

hsdhaoOh yes! I picked and froze raspberries today. Blackberries soon.
This photo speaks volumes; so many stories!
I love blackberry jam.
I'd have "burned a lot of film" on that old tractor. Like John and Mike suggested, it could be a great source of shots in evening light.
