NEW LIFE
Several months ago I posted some pictures of the steer behind my son's home. Well now there is new life there. The ranchers have added several cattle and three weeks ago this new calf was born. We heard the mothers distressing sounding bellows and wondered what was going on. A few days later this bouncing baby was gamboling all over the pasture.
I thought I would post this restful scene as a break from my hectic week.
Tomorrow painters come and the fence builder begins his work. We have almost everything cleared out.
Even though I don't have the time to comment on your blogs I am enjoying looking at your photos.
Thank you for all of your encouraging comments. They have really given me a boost.

I wonder if those are the proud sets of grandparents!?
An absolutely delightful shot. Seeing these babies in the fields could make vegetarians of the soft hearted.
All the best with your final push on the house front. Ill bet when you finish all the work, the home will look so nice you wont want to sell.
Beautiful and soothing! How lucky of your son to live near such a place!
What a great photo, Photowannabe Sue... I just returned from a little trip myself, way out into west Marin... The poppies are amazing this year, and the cows are digging the beautiful weather...
By the way, I sort of know just how hard you are working -- getting your place ready for the market... I had to do the same thing to my parents old place in Pacific Grove about four years ago... Had to completely clear out everything and dispose of everything that I couldn't sell or give away... My mother (God rest her kind soul) was a fierce packrat and hadn't thrown out ANYTHING since 1946 -- I am not kidding ! And it was horrible throwing out all of that junk, because each item brought back memories... But anyway, a nice new family lives there now -- and they really like the place... --I don't know why I had to tell you all of that, but there you go... Hope you have a fine time living in Sacramento!
The little feller should be on one of those "Happy Cows Come From California" commercials. Cute shot.
Calves are just so cute. I'll be thinking of you this next week. I'm working on cleaning out. My daughter put her house on the market last Saturday.
the li'l calf prancing around is such a delight to look at :)
Last weekend we were watching the branding down below my Dad's home. Fun to watch the new guys!
Good shot.

Just as you said...new life. I love spring.
Very nicely done “Pastoral” scene.
Little calves are so cute but having waded in too much cow manure in my life I must try very hard to be able to look past that and see the beauty in a cow :)
Hmmmm a clear out! Sounds like a good thing to do, infact it is a very necessary thing to do! Yes....on my list!
