MORNING DIAMONDS
Our local county park has beautiful Morning Diamonds to usher in the Springtime season.
The picture has more interesting detail when enlarged. So just click on the image.
Well thank you very much, Photowannabe Sue, I had been wondering what the name of these was... They are extremely prolific right now here in Marin County... You did a great job with the photo -- I've been trying to shoot them with my close-up lens, but keep striking out because of the very short depth-of-field... I'll keep trying... They look great backlit, but again, no success as of yet... Thanks again for the name -- they really are Blue Diamonds !
Like Laurie, I also thought it was Periwinkle also known as Vinca. Whatever the name, it is very pretty and always an early appearance. I have some in my garden.
i love all these wildflower close-ups. little flowers that most people probably walk by and ignore....but have such beautiful little details. thanks for sharing the beauty!
The similarities in our flora never fail to amaze me. I mean Portugal's & yours. I am from London, England & that's totally different. The sale really looked like a lot of fun &glad it went so well for you.
I have a passion for photography. I use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, so come with me and see Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West.

Gorgeous, I love the dew drops! Good shot! I love the poppy too. Yay spring is on its way.
So fresh looking! So.... opposite in seasons.
These look like periwinkle, which are among the very first flowers to make their appearance here in the Spring. So delicate and pretty.

The picture is beautiful, especially when enlarged, although I like it for the colours alone, without needing the detail.
This is beautiful
Those raindrops (dewdrops) are particularly pleasing on the greenery of this pretty flower.

Lovely, lovely. When I was growing up we called those flowers "periwinkles" and they meant that spring had really arrived. At last!
