ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " K "

Here we are almost at the middle of the alphabet.
I'm sure you KNOW the letter for Wednesday is " K ".
These KIDS are KIN to each other and we had a
difficult time KEEPING UP with them to take a picture.
Since they weren't KITH or KINFOLK to us,
we only wanted to photograph them from behind.

What were the KIDS so KEEN on seeing?
KOKANEE Salmon were spawning in Taylor Creek at Lake Tahoe.
I got a KICK out of watching the amazing red fish
expending their last bit of energy to go back to their birthplace.
They will lay their eggs and come to the end of their lives.
It makes me wonder how they can KNOW where they were hatched and return to the same spot.

The ducks seem to have an inate KNOWLEDGE of when and where
the eggs are layed and then they will have some gourmet meals.
Duck Caviar...... or is it KAVIAR????

This last week has been so wonderful.
Bev and I are truly KINDRED Spirits.
We KINDLED a friendship through blogging and finally got to meet.
Can you imagine? She traveled all the way from Florida just to visit with me.
Bev and I haven't stopped talking and comparing our lives for a full week.
My Hubby KEEPS KIDDING us about being sisters.
We have so much in (K)ommon.
Its been a great Highlight of having this blog and finally meeting a dear friend in person.

KUDOS to Mrs. Nesbitt for beginning this fantastic ABC Wednesday.
(K)lick on her name on the sidebar to see what others have posted for the letter K.

SAN FRANCISCO....HIGH ON A HILL

Yesterday my friend and fellow blogger Bev, Hubby and I went to San Francisco and did lots of touristy things.
It was a glorious balmy day.
We gazed at the view from atop Twin Peaks.
It reminds me of the song, I left my heart in San Francisco. High on a hill it calls to me.
Thanks to singer Tony Bennett.
Please enlarge this shot to really see The City.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " J "

Our letter for Wednesday is " J ".
The JOINT is really JUMPING with the JOVIAL music from the JUKEBOX.
Don't you think it would be fun to have a JOB as a soda JERK in this place?
You would probably have to speak the JARGON of the 50's to be in style.

I love the JOLLY orange color of this JAZZY JALOPY.

I guess the owners didn't want
to JUNK this JAUNTY old oven so they just made a planter out of it.
The Detroit JEWEL oven bakes best...or so it says.
Enlarging any of these pictures will give you more detail.

The Blue Angels made their JET PROPELLED JOURNEY through the sky.
The JETS went through their paces at amazing speeds and dexterity.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " I "

Welcome to the wonderful world of " I " .
This IPOD advertisement
on the side of a New York City building IMPRESSED
me with ITS bright colors and very hip ILK.

IT'S IMPOSSIBLE to IGNORE the broken window while
looking at the IMAGES reflected in the glass.
IF you use your IMAGINATION
you can IDENTIFY the IMPOSING IMAGE of a face.
INTERESTING ISN'T IT?

During our Summer Church Camp we had many ICY decorations.
This IDEA IS so clever.
I had to show you how we IMITATED an IGLOO.
Hundreds of plastic opaque water jugs were glued together
with the bottoms facing the outside.
Don't they look like blocks of ICE?
The crafty people really IMPRESSED me with this IDEAL IGLOO.

I have no IDEA what this IMP is waiting for.
She must not be very IMPATIENT
sitting there on the floor for so many years.
ILLUMINATE your mind by visiting Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar
to see what IMPRESSIONS others have posted.
Don't forget to enlarge each picture to see the detail.

LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Last night there was a terrible natural gas explosion just a few blocks from where I grew up.
This was in San Bruno, California.
There are 6 known dead, 50 homes totally destroyed and 120 severely damaged. The homes were totally consumed in less than 5 minutes.
Terrifying, powerful fire.
It made me stop and think about how precious life is and how fast our world can change.
Thinking of all the displaced families and those that have lost loved ones.
Give your family an extra hug today.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " H "

The letter for ABC Wednesday is " H ".
This first picture can also be for Carmi's theme of Transportation,
so check HIS link too.
In the 1930's and 40's the HIGH - HAND fruit and flower packing plant
was in its HAYDAY.
Produce was shipped from HERE to there, all over the U. S.

The HARD-WORKING truck would HAVE been a HAZARD
without a lightbulb in its HEADLAMP.
This is definitely not a HOT ROD to create alot of HOOPLA over.

Be it HAWAII or somebody's garden, one can always find
HEAVENLY HIBISCUS such as this one to enjoy.
I don't think they are HUMDRUM at all.
In fact it looks like a HUMDINGER of a flower to me.

I HOPE the rope is secure or the HAY-BALE could cause
HAVOC in the HAYLOFT.
Make it a HABIT to enlarge the photos and HAVE a look at the detail.
HOP on over to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar to see what's HAPPENING at ABC Wednesday.
