ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " X "

Here we are at one of the more difficult letters in the alphabet.
I definitely do not have XENOPHOBIA , that is a fear of strangers or of what is strange or foreign.
If I did I wouldn't be posting all these pictures for the world to see!
There are so many X's making up the girders of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Make sure you enlarge the photo to eXamine the patterns of Xs within Xs.

I really like the bold X formation on the old Air Force plane.

Are you confused by this picture? It is as close to an X-RAY shot that I have.
You are looking at a map that is transparent. The hanger is seen behind the see thru map.
Basically that's what an X-RAY does. It allows you to see beyond and into whats behind the first layer.
Be sure to enlarge this picture to see what I'm trying to eXplain.

Last but not least, a jacket label saying the size is XL or eXtra large.
Thanks for stopping by.

MORE BREAKAWAY TO THE ARCTIC FREEZE

Friday was our final time for our church's summer camp called BREAKAWAY TO THE ARCTIC FREEZE.
Over 3000 kids attended in 3 different sessions. We had 1800 volunteers to help with the amazing program.
Even though the temps were in the 80's an iceberg or two could be sighted around the campus.

This was some of the wall decoration in the 4 year olds art room.

Not the best picture but I wanted to show these bouncing, happy 4 year olds singing and doing lots of hand motions to the songs led by some amazing workers. I believe there were around 200 - 4 year olds( total )in the day sessions and just a bit less in the evening session. That is a lot of little 4 year old kiddos.
The 4 year olds had their own rooms, separate from the older kids, for their activities, story time, theme plays and outdoor play area. It really makes for a safe and fun learning environment . They especially loved the water play and using their outside voices.

Isn't he a cute decoration? The art room was just a delight to see

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " W "

WE are almost at the end of the alphabet.
This WEEK'S letter is " W ".
WHEN
looking at my WHIMSICAL choices
you will see that they WIND WILLY NILLY
from one subject to another.
These black and WHITE pouting lip ceramic pots
are my WAY-out choices for the letter " W ".

This shot Was taken from the inside of a WESTERN covered WAGON.
The WAGON WASN'T
very WIDE and the seat WAS made from a WOODEN plank.
It must have been a WILD ride back in gold rush times.

I love this functioning WINDMILL . The shot was taken in the barren WILDERNESS of the Kenya Bush.

A WINDMILL, just for show, found its WAY onto my camera lens.
The sky WAS the color of WISTERIA blossoms.
I WISH there WERE more sunsets WITH the soft colors available for me to photograph.
WON'T you WANDER over to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar to see WHAT other WONDERFUL bloggers have posted for the letter W ?

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " V "

I am posting a bit early.
This picture and the one below are the reasons.
A VERY cold theme on a VERY hot day! 98F or 36.667C.
Our church is having their annual Summer camp or VACATION Bible School called Breakaway to the Arctic Freeze.

By the time we have done a VARIETY of activities, almost 3000 kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade will have gone through the VAST icebergs and seen the VARIOUS penguins and polar bears. After today, the first day , the kids smiles spoke VOLUMES.
We have 1900 VOLUNTEERS giving VALUABLE time and energy to make it a fun time for everyone.

This picture is entitled the Builder's Dream. I took it at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.
In 1917 Dr. Hubert Eaton revolutionized the cemeteries of America with the Memorial-Park plan.
Cemeteries were transformed by his VISION.
We all need dreams and VISIONS to make this world a better place.

A VERTICAL VIEW of the New York City skyline. There is such a VAST VARIETY of architecture and VARIATION on every corner.
Don't VACILLATE, enlarge each picture to see the detail.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " U "

I was UNDECIDED about what to post for the letter " U ".
Then I remembered some " ULTRAFASHIONABLE" ( not) clothing that would be my first " U " picture.
These UNMENTIONABLES or UNDERWARE, UNDERGARMENTS or UNDIES just had to be posted.
Several women were hired to handwash our laundry while we stayed in Haiti a few years ago.

A few weeks ago, fellow blogger "Flamblogger" mentioned a UNIQUE UNDERTAKING she had made.
She had a book printed of her blog postings.
I was intrigued by the site and ULTIMATELY had my own printed.

I am thrilled by the results. I printed 2009 to the present postings.
Now I have a cherished copy and journal of the last year.
I will USE "SharedBook" again to do 2008 very soon.
The site is very USER friendly. If I can do it, anyone can!
http://Blog2Print.SharedBook.com/

Last, but certainly not least is a shot of an UNITED States Army Jeep.
This is a USEFUL reminder to remember and thank all of our service personel wherever you live.
Its UP to you to see what others have posted for the letter " U " by USING Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar.

TAHOE GET-AWAY

Heavy overcast followed us all the way to Lake Tahoe last Tuesday.
Though the sky is blue over the Lake, large clouds covered the sun and made things a bit dull.
I do like the sky in this shot because of the variety of clouds.

The snow pack in the higher mountains is still pretty good and the rivers are running full and very fast.
The news has been warning people about the extremely fast currents and freezing water temperatures.

Peaceful scenes like this one is just what the doctor ordered for both my Hubby and myself. Both of us really needed a break.
We enjoyed just being here with our friends and catching up on the last few years adventures.
Enjoy your weekend everybody.
