FIRST THE SUN AND THEN THE STORM

Yesterday I went out to the backyard to take a few spring blossom pictures. The sun was brilliant with some beautiful puffy white clouds. When I turned around this is what I saw. The angry dark clouds were ready to let go any minute so I took a few more shots and went back inside just in time. Just up the freeway about 45 minutes away they got a full night of snow.
This morning we had a thick cover of frost.

FORESTHILL BRIDGE

I took this shot of the Foresthill Bridge a few months ago. We parked on one end and walked the whole length. The Foresthill Bridge is California's highest bridge at 730 feet. It traverses the North Fork of the American River.

I had a wonderful weekend with our family but didn't take a single picture.
As a result I went back into my archives to post this study in browns.

A FUNGUS AMONG US

After the hard rains of this last week a fungus appeared in our yard. It is about 4 inches across.
This afternoon I watched the cat next door stalking it and finally attacking it. Crazy kitty.

Today is ABC Wednesday and the letter is " H ".
" H " is for Haitian art. I bought both of these paintings when we were in Haiti several years ago.
I love the primitive style and the vivid colors.


This painting is by Jeremy. His artwork is the major way that he supports his family.
We brought him many brushes and tubes of oil paint so he could continue to make a living.
