I just can't imagine being in the devastation happening in Southern California right now.
We have known people in both this fire and the ones we had a few years ago up in our area of Northern California.
Its difficult to understand the feelings of those involved. Watching it on the news is one thing ( which allows us to remove ourselves from the whole thing.) and its another to know friends personally involved.
What does one do?
I find I really can't watch too much of it. It just eats away at me.
What can I do? Contribute to a reputable charity like Convoy of Hope that gets in there and does practical help and of course pray for all those involved.
Then I have to look out my "office" window and see God's magnificent creation and feel the peace that passes all understanding.
Always be Thankful
Always be Kind

It is so terrible. I have been praying for the victims, and am so glad you are not close.
The devastation of the wildfires is Incomprehensible. I pray you and your family continue to be safe, Sue.
The fires and the devastation they leave behind is hard to even comprehend. The loss of things is hard enough, but I always think of the photos and the things passed down that can't be replaced.
Praying for all.
and it will not be over for years, we had 2 hurricanes in 2023, and 3 in 2024 that came up the west coast of Florida, there are still people from 2023 struggling to get their lives back. we see them on our local news begging for help. I see these fires and have no idea what we would do if suddenly everything was gone, even jobs. NC is still like that from the storms and will be for years. it does hit home more when we know someone effected.. I am not watching it any more. in fact have stopped watching the news except for checking the weather
