Today is very windy and not very interesting for taking photos.
It makes me a bit nostalgic for the wild ocean waves by our former home.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " S "

Its ABC Wednesday again and we are at the letter " S ". This photo stands for "Strangers no more".
Yesterday I had the special opportunity to meet, for the very first time, a long time blogging friend. She is Kekiinani of Renee's Almost a Photo a Day blog. She has her home on the island of Oahau. What a wonderful time we had eating lunch and gabbing as long lost friends. We are definitely Strangers no more.



How's this for a super giant snail? The not so slimey snail was part of a floral display at the California State Fair.



I saw my shadow while taking a shot of the splash of colors in the fallen leaves.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " R "

Today the letter " R " is being featured on ABC Wednesday.
" R " is for Red Rock Canyon. Its hard to get the perspective
of how rugged and really huge this pile of rocks is. Notice in the lower lefthand corner of the picture the hiking trails.
This is a hikers paradise.



The rich layers of color in Red Rock Canyon, Nevada are fascinating to me.



Mountain climbers love the Red Rocks too. Can you find them scaling the side of the rock?

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Q "

QUILTS...QUALITY AND QUIRKY



This is the most original Quilt I have ever seen. A Quilt made out of Barbie dolls mounted in shadow box squares. We saw the beautiful Quilts at the California State Fair this summer.



I thought this was a Quirky shot that made my son and I laugh as we looked at this scene. Are we going to win the newspaper reading man or that Quality Quilt behind him?

FALL FLOWERS

I haven't had a chance to do a photo shoot so I went back to my archives and found these gorgeous fall flowers.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " P "

Today is ABC Wednesday again and the letter is " P ".
This is the Pachyderm Parade. They always walked single file. It looked like a parade.



We loved seeing these amazing animals on our Kenya safari.



The word Pachyderm means thick skined animals. The "Pint-sized" baby was fun to watch.
It never strayed far from the patient mother.



I wonder how this Pachyderm lost her tusk. I hope it wasn't Poachers. The Kenyan Game Reserve has had a lot of trouble with Poachers trying to gain their fortunes from ivory and the pelts of the Big Cats.

THE FIRST BLUSH OF FALL

The trees are finally beginning to don their Fall colors.
I love the bursts of red, yellow and rust among the still green leaves.
