ROSE BOWL NEW YEARS DAY
A New Years Day tradition is watching a college football game called The Rose Bowl. This takes place in Pasadena, California.
Today University of Michigan played University of Southern California. Unfortunately for Ruth of the East Lansing Daily blog, her team lost. So sorry Ruth. I guess my saying Go Blue didn't work.
This photo was taken 2 years ago when Michigan played the Texas Longhorns and unfortunately they lost that year too. Why did I take this photo? My husband and I were tour directors and worked for the Michigan Alumni. We did everything from greeting the alumni coming off their charter flights, tours of So. California, escorting the gang to the 116th Tournament of Roses Parade and of course getting everyone to the tailgate party and the Game.
There were 100,000 fans in attendance. Can you believe it, the tickets we tour guides were given, to see part of the game, were in the Texas end zone.
I don't think that went over too well with any of the Michigan alumni that may have found out.
There is nothing like the atmosphere of a college football game that's called The Granddaddy of Them All. It is a high energy affair. The photo shows the Michigan band and cheerleaders performing before a packed audience.
