This last Saturday was our annual Family Christmas party. It is mostly our daughter in laws side of the family that live fairly close.
Its always lots of fun and a Norwegian Feast for the tummy. We were missing some kiddos and cousins this year. Its difficult to plan a time around everybody's schedule.
We did end up with about 40! Steve and Sigrid have a big enough place to host the crowd.
This year's shot of the set-up.
Last years from the opposite direction.
This may be the end of this post. We shall see what I can figure out.
Yay, I think whatever was the problem is ok for the moment.
We had the crazy gift exchange which really was fun. As I said before candid photos sometimes make everyone look bored or all I get was the back of heads. Its for my memories any hoo...
Sometimes its a bit raucous, but all in fun.
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind

Well, what were all the Norwegian goodies there? At first I thought it was at your place. I couldn't fit 40 in my home. It really does look like a wonderful time of family and fun. You and Dave look so happy.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a huge party! it is like a big family reunion! I think you did get good candid shots. What a lot of work went into this!
ReplyDeleteOh Sue...this looks like such a wonderful gathering. nothing like family and the Christmas Season. Such a lovely home and how nice that it is big enough to host everyone. I'm thinking the Norwegian food sounds delicious. You all look great and so happy...I love this!! Thank you for sharing your lovely family with us.. Happy times for you and Dave.. big ol' Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI grew up in North Dakota and miss Norwegian food, now that I don't live there. Lucky you for good food and family time!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it was a fun time. I think candid pictures are the best.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time together. Great memories!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully large home to accommodate everyone! Yes, candid shots are such fun; unfortunately, I've always been too focused on setting up the "perfect" shot, that the best ones are lost.
ReplyDeleteReading between the lines, "a bit of raucous" fun sounds like something right up my alley.
That's a lot of people to fit in! It looks like so much fun. I agree with Mevely - it bit of raucous is perfect!
ReplyDeleteSue...so sorry, but could you please send me your mailing address one more time. I'm writing them in my book this time. I'm blaming my loss of the addresses on my computer but it was most likely me..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - 40 people - that was a wonderful party in your beautiful home/. You are so lucky to be able to do that.
ReplyDeleteCandid photos are fine, besides this the season of cookies, cakes, pies and candy so it's irrelevant if folks' clothes are too small. There's plenty of time to use new years resolutions to slim down later.
ReplyDeleteI like the pictures the way you took them, they show the Real Life fun time. not posed, but doing fun things or chatting with each other. My cousins daughter had a house like this, she could put 35 of us in one room, for our cousins reunion. most of our family is deceased, we used to have this many when all daddy's brothers were alive.. the family is small.
ReplyDeleteSuch happy times and preserved here forever and always.
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, what great pictures, and how marvelous you all look. It was so good to see the pictures of Dave with the family and you too, my sweet friend. We will have Christmas at Michel's this year, as we did Thankgiving at Myks. So glad the kids love to host the holidays. It was years that I did all of that. The batone has been passed! Would love to sit and share with a christmas cookie and cuppa coffee.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about your computer being not good. That's not fun. Love that you had The Grinch there and 40 is a lot of people. Good day for you guys. Happy Christmas ❤️🎄
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful and that is a large crowd. The set up looked really nice.
