ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " U "

I can't believe we are at the letter  " U " already.

I think the letter " U " is  UNUSUALLY difficult to define.

The words I have chosen are

UP  and  UGLY.

Not so great and kind of UGLY photo of the Swifts flying by our hotel window.

We were UP on the 17th floor.

This is their destination.

These are the UGLY and messy nests in the corners of the windows.

The birds flitted by so fast that my Hubby was UNABLE to catch a really clear photo through our tinted hotel window.

Even the mighty and UPSTANDING sometimes fall.

UGLY !!!

What more can I say?

Poor pumpkin!

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " T "

It's hard TO believe THAT we are already at THE letter  " T "

for ABC Wednesday.


I have entitled THE first photo

TOUGH  TIRE  No Longer.

THIS blown out TIRE happened a few weeks ago.

My Hubby and I were TRAVELING on THE freeway at about 70 mph.

All of a sudden THERE was a rumbling sound and THE car begin to shake.

I am so THANKFUL my husband was driving and we made it safely

TO THE roadside.

Cars were whizzing by us but we were okay and THE  TOWING service came and changed our TIRE.

Of course THE spare TIRE THAT looks like a donut was very low on air.

We had TO get THAT  filled so we could make it TO THE shop.

TWO new TIRES and a definite dent in our wallet later....we finally made it home.

Scary but it all ended well.

THESE are beautiful TULIPS my Granddaughters gave me for Mother's Day.

Where does the time go?

It's time to post for ABC Wednesday  Letter  " S ".

A SIMPLE  SAUCER of SHELLS

DAY TRIP TO HIGH SIERRA IRIS GARDENS

We missed the prime time for the beautiful Iris blooms by a few weeks,

But they were still so stunning.

I have never seen so many colors and varieties.

There are actually 500 different Iris varieties there on the property.

The centers of flowers fascinate me.

there is such a vast variety of styles and coloring.

I took so many photos that it was difficult to pick only a few to show today.

Isn't this one amazing?

It is all one blossom.

The white frilly top knot just sets of the purple throat.

Remember to enlarge them for the best effect.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " R "

Here we are again at ABC Wednesday.

Today's letter is " R ".

REMEMBER the old song " Home on the RANGE ?"

Where the buffalo ROAM......

This buffalo is REALLY  a bison but he lives in the Buffalo Paddock at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA.

They are RATHER big, to my way of thinking.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Even though my Mom has been gone for 20 years,

I still miss her a lot.

I often think, oh Mom would love to see this or hear about that,

I should call her......

Can't do that.....

I'm so thankful for her Godly guidance

Kind and gentle spirit

and just plain fun to be around.

Precious memories.

THERE'S A FUNGUS AMONG US

We spotted this fancy fungus enveloping a big tree root in our backyard.

It's almost the weekend.

Get out and enjoy it.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Q "

Well here we are again making the rounds of the alphabet.

This time I am on the QUEST for the letter  " Q  ".


I am QUITE happy to have a new park so close to our home.

QUARRY Park....

The new park is on the grounds of the old, no longer in use, QUARRY.

The QUARRY mined granite for many buildings in San Francisco.

I am so glad they have developed such a beautiful park.

This place in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco,CA is called

QUEEN Wilhelmina's Tulip Garden.

The Dutch Windmill has been cosmetically restored but is no longer working.

When we were there recently the tulips were finished for the season and the

Icelandic poppies were just about done too.

It was a beautiful day for sightseeing anyway.
