I'm having so much fun looking at the world through the lens of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I will share my world of Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West. Come and enjoy with me.

Brilliant. Thank you for reminding us that Memorial Day isn't about beaches, bargains or barbeques.

Very moving. Very pertinent.
Very good post! I was going to recomment you read Abe Lincoln's post for the day but I saw that you were there.
It never fails to move me when I visit a national cemetery. A year ago, I was at the American cemetery over Omaha Beach in France around memorial day, and that was actually one of the highlights of the trip. Many people paid a great price to allow us to live in this wonderful country, and it is up to this generation to make sure we don't drop the ball. I wonder if we are up to it........
Indeed it isn't.
Amen. You got that right Sue. Well said.
Wonderful Sue. Thanks for this post.
An excellent shot of the alignment of the memorial headstones. Are these graves of soldiers from Iraq? I don't mean to be unkind asking... - Dave
it sure isn't.... thanks for reminding.
A very moving image...Strong memories..
Thanks for reminding us about freedom. I like the post below also. Great photographs.

le titre de ton post est tellement vrai, très émouvant.
the title of your post is so true, very moving.
you have so right!!!!
If those who starts the wars fought in them, there'd be less of these, me thinks.
We honour our veterans and our fallen servicemen on November 11, Armistice Day.
So we had our long weekend last week, Victoria Day, in Canada.
I completely agree with the title of your post. Wonderful post, indeed!
I like this tribute and I am grateful for the opportunity to be here in the US. I know my life would be so very different had we had to stay in Vietnam after the war. Very nice post, Sue.
