Thankful Thursday
I am so thankful for the amazing sunset we had the other evening.
It was like the entire sky was on fire. I'm so glad I got out of my easy chair and went outside to see it.
I am also so very thankful for the safety features that finally were put in our home.
You all figured out my Wordless Wednesday.
This is "my" "guest" bathroom with new grab bars in the step into short tub.
I only use the shower though. I could never sit down in that tub and get up again!
The two gentlemen that came to install the equipment were just wonderful. They were from The Placer County Independent Resource Services. These pieces and the work done was all free of charge to us as seniors through a grant.
They worked hard and cleaned up so nicely too. The guy that did my bathroom asked if I had some cleaner that he could use. He said he had been walking around in the tub area and wanted to clean it for me. Talk about a win/win. I didn't have to get on my knees and scrub that thing! I could have kissed him for doing that job for me.
We are so thankful for the security and safety the bars provide and for there being no cost to us.
An interesting sidelight was finding out that they both attend the church we used to go to. Blessings all around. They are volunteers and don't get paid for their time and effort. Such servants hearts ...
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind

This is so wonderful!!!! I was not even able to get into the tub many years ago, so we had the tub taken out and just a walk-in shower installed. We have a lot of grab bars as well. But Phil still has to steady me while drying off. I know you are loving this! So Dave has the bathroom with the tub, and you have the walk-in shower? Your sky photo is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful to have those grab bars installed for you! What a blessing!! That's a wonderful "Ministry" for those fellas to do as well. Yes, we are at a stage in life where those safety measures can be a life saver!!! And your sunsets have been gorgeous!!! I've enjoyed seeing them on Facebook!!! God sure paints some amazing skies!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great story, Sue. And what a bonus that he cleaned the area as well. So great to read about agood folks helping other good folks.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see these safety features! Also, how wonderful that you had such nice workmen in your home. Thank you for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and Dave! These gentlemen sound like true gifts from above.
ReplyDeleteThe safety bars are very nice in both bathrooms. You will appreciate them in the years to come. Your master shower is pretty big. Must be hard to clean that one. Showers are one of my least favorite things to clean....that, and baseboards. ; ) The sunset is beautiful. So glad you could go outside and experience it. I remember how pretty the sunrises were in your area. I used to get up early and drive to that perfect spot to see them.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful sunset. How wonderful that all that work was done free of charge. That definitely is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Sue, as I have enjoyed your guest bath when we were visiting some time back when we were able to travel. We are so grateful that the maintenance here at the Villa, takes care of things like that for us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sunset, Sue! The safety bars are so important to have in bathrooms. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful ministry and blessing to have all that work done for free.
ReplyDeleteThe sunset is beyond gorgeous.
That is a beautiful sunset. I really like what you did to your bathrooms. Also very interesting that they go to your church. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you got the safety bars installed. These will be so nice and will add a lot more security to how you move about in the bathroom. Love the gorgeous sunset. Makes you stop and think about the goodness of God. How neat that the guys went to your old church... These are the sweetest kinds of blessings... Enjoy a gorgeous day....🥰
ReplyDeleteThose safety features should really help you both feel more secure in using the tub and toilet. I sould also find it difficult to get out of a tub, so we only use the shower.
