Thank you dear friends for all of your well wishes ... I had a wonderful day yesterday.
And
I didn't take a single picture. (HaHa)
Debra and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at a local restaurant that wasn't crowded like it usually is. We had a great table with no people around us and a wonderful waitress.
We gabbed for 3 hours !!! Quite unbelievable. There was so much to catch up on.
That got me to thinking. This last month or two has been difficult but there were such blessings thrown into the mix. Dave and I have seen quite a few people we haven't seen in ages. Last Sunday we attended our former church for a change of pace. We got to get some wonderful hugs from long time friends and the chance to catch up a bit too.
We got a chance to talk to our neighbor from around the corner. He's had the fox in his yard too. He's offered to weed wack the jungle in the backyard when he gets back from vacation. I am so thankful. I hope it will get done. We sure have a nice neighborhood.
Dave and I are making slow progress on figuring out and pricing our garage sale stuff. In the next few days I will show you our garage bins and the daunting task. At least it is getting done!
Today the temps are going into the 90'sF and by Saturday it will be 100F.
Too hot for me but we will get things done in the shade of the garage anyway.
It might feel a bit like this..
Gratitude paints a pretty picture. :)
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have wonderful neighbors.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of that quote "there is always, always something to be thankful for!" It's true, sometimes we need to look a little harder than other times, but it's there.
ReplyDeleteLove the poppy!
You have good neighbors because you’re good neighbors to your neighbors! Sounds like the golden rule! I think that is so special that ypur neighbor would do that for you.
ReplyDeleteI totally get how you would forget to take photos - it’s more about enjoying the company you’re with and giving them your complete attention and not being sidetracked by taking photos. Living in the moment is always best.
Oh my goodness on those temperatures! Thanks to all the rainfall, we're enjoying 70's and 80's -- so I celebrated by turning on the oven and making a quiche. I love how you and Dave always manage to find a bit of good in every day. Just being around you (figuratively speaking) always lifts my spirits!
ReplyDeleteA wild poppy? Have you thought of posting a few things on your blog from time to time. Maybe some of your followers would like a first chance to buy something you are getting rid of.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled you went to lunch and gabbed three hours! Time waits for no one does it. Good luck on your sale!
ReplyDeleteIt's better to have a great time than it is to get pictures. I went to lunch with a friend too and didn't think to take any pictures.
ReplyDeleteour back yard is now AKA Sahara Desert, since the removal of the giant shade tree after Milton. yay for the hugs and visits and for a super neighbor. our feels like this morning at 4 am was 92.. muggy walk with Beau. we too are in the 90's and Sahara BY was at 102 on our thermometer and THEY say will cause early June STORMS...
ReplyDeleteIts early in the season for such oppressive heat, watch out for poisonous snakes, scorpions out in a bad mood and looking for a place to cool off. Here in Saudi we just got a heat and snake/scorpion notice, who knows how bad it will get by July.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a great lunch with your friend. That's great that your neighbor is going to weed wack your yard. You for you working on the garage stuff. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThree hours of gabbing with a good friend over a peaceful lunch sounds absolutely perfect. And it's so lovely to hear about reconnecting with old friends and neighbors, especially with that kind offer for the backyard jungle! Good luck with the garage sale prep, and stay cool in that Golden State heat!
ReplyDeleteI just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
So glad you had some time to gab with a friend!!! Those are always wonderful times. Also glad to hear you will have some help with your backyard. That type of work is difficult, at best. Thank you for linking up and have a great weekend!
