SANTA CRUZ BEACH BOARDWALK
Winter is a great time to visit the covered Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California. The crowds are minimal and the weather is nice. Buy a cotton candy or a carmel apple and just sit and watch the waves lap the shore.
Oh wow -- what childhood memories I have of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk... Actually got up enough nerve to ride the Big Dipper (rollercoaster) seven or eight years ago -- first time since I was a kid -- but I don't think I will do that again anytime soon (I thought I was going to die for sure)... Must go find these cool colors...
Oh, those painted columns are wonderful! I haven't been to Santa Cruz in a zillion years and have almost no memory of the place, but your post makes me want to return. Now.
A very nice shot. I love the way this photo seems to flow and flow. Nice work, nice subject, great lighting. I think you have a great eye and I know you have talent. Keep it up and you will be rewarded.
Sounds very relaxing. I like that, too.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Just look at those colors! The scene you've described sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot!
This surely is an original boardwalk. And a nice picture too. Happy 2007!
ReplyDeleteAwesome colors and nice composition! "on the way to santa cruz" is a fantasticly beautiful sea shore capture. Great work!
ReplyDeletevery contrasting colours, it works and brings out the details, Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are sooo nice. I wish I will visit California one day. Preferably in winter since there is no crowd :)
ReplyDeleteWhat colors! I love the violet columns!
ReplyDeleteSigh...I am jealous. Too cold in the winter (normally) for the boardwalk around here, although this winter is very warm so far.
ReplyDeleteThose colors are amazing.
That's an awfully wonderful promenade. I'd be happy to sit and watch or to walk and eat. Either!
ReplyDeleteI'm sold! How fast can I get there?? :)
ReplyDeleteOOoh, I haven't been to Santa Cruz in years. I must admit I find the purple columns somewhat perplexing.
