MY BIRTHDAY TRIP TO LAKE TAHOE

My Hubby and I spent the last few days at one of my favorite places,

Lake Tahoe.

The following photos will actually be a series of  " NO " entries.

California is in its 3rd year of drought.

That's not good news for the lakes, rivers and  fish.

This area is usually teaming with spawning Salmon and a virtual buffet for the bear.

NO water.....

NO bear

NO fish....

These were the only living fish we saw along Taylor Creek.

I'm afraid there is no place for them to migrate to.

The water is too low, stagnant and you can see all the dead fish on the lower right of the photo.

NO color either.

The Aspen didn't put on a show this year.

They went from green to brown and falling to the ground.

Zephyr Cove is full of huge Granite boulders.

NO boats can come to shore.

Lots of muck instead of crystal clear Lake Tahoe.

Here's the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.

I have never seen it this low.

You can see where the dock would usually be way out in the water

.

I love the Lake and the view of the mountains.

It makes me so sad to see it this way.

Be sure to enlarge these photos to see the detail.

Praying for snow and rain to fill up this Lake again.

very sad indeed.. i looked through the slide show of pics before reading your post and thought wow, this doesn't look like the Lake Tahoe i have seen on TV and in movies. then i read it. i pray they get the rain they need for the fish and wild life. humans can help themselves the wildlife can't. what a nice birthday trip.

That's tragic. I have happy memories of staying a Tahoe on the way to Yosemite and it's so sad to see it looking like this.
