ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " U "

USUALLY this time of year calls for shorts and flip flops and of
course, bright sunshine.
Hubby and I went to Lake Tahoe for several days of rest and
relaxation and to visit our Blogging friends Wanda and Don.

UNFORTUNATELY, (well, not really) the weather had other
things in mind besides sunshine.
What started out as sunny , became gray.
It is somewhat UNUSUAL but not too UNCOMMON to have
rain and snow in the mountains in June.

Don't you just love this photo of Wanda and Don?
I think you can see why we love them so much.

As the storm rolled in across the Lake, we watched it from our cozy
spot inside their charming bungalow.
We were UNDAUNTED by the wind and snow.
There is nothing better than chatting and drinking coffee while the
big flakes fall outside.
It truly made our time UNFORGETTABLE.

This morning we awoke to sunny skies again and a coating of
snow over the trees and mountainsides.
I think it looked like a Christmas card.

Thanks for looking at my post and enjoying the UNIQUE
Summertime shots.
Enlarging the photos will show more detail.

Goodness, it is 90 degrees here, or at least it was last week. Amazing pictures. I'm glad you didn't let it spoil your visit.

Snow.. ick! ;)

I love that first image of the foggy lake and the overturned canoe. And of course the snow makes for a lovely image. Your friends look like they're fun people. :)

Oh my goodness, snow in the summertime is unusual, indeed, except at the very high elevations. But all is well when you don’t have to shovel and can simply enjoy the company of friends amid the flakes. :)

Well, I guess I shouldn't complain about the rain we've been having here. At least today is sunny, but rain forecast for tomorrow - again! *sigh* Have a great week and let's hope summer comes soon!

A lovely story of time with blogging friends. I especially like 'drinking coffee while the big flakes fall outside.' What a joy to wake up to 'a Christmas card.' God is just awesome, isn't He?

Lovely photo of Wanda and Don. I think we received some of that storm in Boise Monday night leaving a trail of broken tree limbs behind. Thankfully all that wind had passed by the time we flew out on Tuesday.

Flip flops sound preferable, but if you had Wanda and Don, then I'm sure you had a good time in spite of the weather. (I love them too!)

These pictures really are a surprise, not what I expected from sunny California! Good to know you had fun, though. ;-)

I loved this post. And I relished the idea of being cozy with friends and a hot beverage while temperatures dropped outside, especially since our outdoors is hot and humid these days!
