ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " E "

Welcome to another EPISODE of ABC Wednesday.
Today's EMPHASIS is on the letter " E ".
I decided to ELABORATE on the theme word EMPTY.
EARLY
last week we went through the California town of
ESPARTO.  It' population is only 1600.
There was certainly nothing ELABORATE about the city.
ERSTWHILE during the Golden Age of Railroads one
could find EXCITMENT and ENERGY.
Now many buildings, like this one, are EMPTY .
ENLARGING EACH photo will show the detail better.

Just one week ago we worked at the Placer Food Bank
Fundraiser called EMPTY bowls.
Due to the decline of the ECONOMY and the lack of
EMPLOYMENT, many are hungry.
EMPTY Bowls is an EFFECTIVE symbol describing life
for many now.

This photo could be called EMPTY Dreams.
The EGRESS... EXIT... or ENTRANCE of this building holds
memories and dreams of literal EARTHLY riches.
This Waystation, in the desert, was the overnight stop on
the quest for gold and silver.
People were EARNESTLY EAGER to find wealth and
a better way of life.
Few did.

Lastly, these EMPTY branches are beginning to welcome
an EARLY Spring.
Soon blossoms will EMBELLISH the naked trees.
Now go to the ABC link on my sidebar for your EDIFICATION
and ENJOYMENT.

I enjoyed this post very much. I find empty towns from the past to be very interesting. The desert way station has a start beautiful I love. Empty bowls and food banks are very important, great idea to feature that today. Spring is in the air although here we had premature spring and then winter came back to turn early blooms brown. Empty, waiting to be filled, or empty, when everything or everybody is gone, - it arouses two very different emotions. Anticipation or reminiscence....

Interesting use of words with great images.

Love that you chose the word EMPTY. I almost chose the same word but would not have done such a great job.

An edifying use of 'E'. And a sad comment on modern life too.

Empty dreams sounds sad. But on second thought emptiness implies there is room for something to be filled. :)

I loved this post and your photos. Loved the first house - looks like two VERY different families built one house on top of another. Really interesting. I also loved the third, earthen house. What an incredible shot - and what earthy colors!

Beautiful collection of bowls. Sad that they are empty. Nice collection of 'e's too. Thanks for visiting and commenting. Touchy subject, but needed to be done, I think.

Lovely E post. The waystation looks creepy but somehow it's something I would explore with a couple of friends with the same fancy. The first photo - never noticed it was empty until I read it was. Maybe I'm just too used to looking at empty buildings in my part of the world when the real estate business flopped a decade ago.

Love all the pictures...I adore pottery and you have some good looking bowls there.

But the orchard take the cake, as I do miss the rows and rows of trees in the valley that we enjoyed for so many years.
