ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " S "

Here we go again SALUTING ABC Wednesday
with the letter " S ".
My first SHOT is of one of my SONS, STEVE
and my SWEETHEART Hubby.
I love this photo of the SMALL lake
and the SILENT SCENERY that was a SOLACE to our SENSES.
The weather was SHIVERY cold and the SKY was SOMBER.
Even though the day was cold it was oh so beautiful and STILL.
As the mists lifted we SAW a dusting of fresh SNOW on the mountainSIDE.
Be SURE to enlarge any of my pictures to get the full STORY.

This STONE STATUE is called The Chinese Musician.
It was restored by Helen Phillips in 1994.
There were originally 20 SCULPTURES in a SERIES called "Pacific Unity".
The STATUES were located in the Court of Pacifica on Treasure Island.
Treasure Island is in the STATE of California.
The Court was part of the 1939 World's Fair.
The Fair was SITUATED on the Island between SAN Francisco and Oakland.

SHADOWS were captured by my camera as we SAUNTERED along the walkway.
SOME of the SHADOWS SORT of looked like SCAFFOLDING to me.
Okay
Perhaps I'm STRETCHING the word-find a bit!

There are quite a few " S " words here to SCOPE out.
I think the SIGN is rather SCARY.
It SEEMS the best way to obey this SIGN is to STAY out of the water.
To SEE what others have posted for " S ",
SCOOT
over to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my SIDEBAR.
Lastly.......
My name SHOWS added SIGNIFICANCE to the letter " S ".
It STANDS for SUE.

the black and white is striking! the photo of hubby and son tells a story, even if we did not know who they are, it speaks by itself.

Sue, I LOVE that first photo - you captured all the adjectives you listed. I have so many memories of Treasure Island. My twin brother and sister who are 10 years older than me went to the World's Fair when they were toddlers in 1939. My friend and I had a joint birthday celebration at the Officer's Club there when I turned six. Your shadow shots were wonderful too.

Do have a fantastic Thanksgiving - your "adopted" family is mighty fortunate to have you in their lives.
