ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " L "

I just had to share my pictures of Lions for the letter " L "
for ABC Wednesday.

Both the previous picture and this one were shot at dusk on the first day of our safari.
The Lions blend in with the grass so well. It was difficult getting the entire pride in the picture.
There were several Lioness and 4 cubs, but Mama made sure they stayed down in the long grass.

We went out at dawn the next day and saw the beautiful lioness.

There was no doubt who was the Lion King .
Go to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar to see what others have posted for the Letter L.
As always enlarging each shot will give you more detail.

These are such beautiful creatures! It's no wonder the lion is considered the king of the jungle. It must have been quite an experience to see these in their native habitat, but I hope you were at a safe distance:)

The ultimate kitty cat! I wouldn't want to meet one without a good barrier between us though!

Magnificent! I clicked on the father and young lion and it looked like there was some blood on it's jaw. Did the pride just enjoy some dinner?

I feel like I was on the safari with you - you captured it incredibly - the lion king shot is my favorite.

Wonderful shots, especially they are taken in a real safari not in the zoo. How happy and at ease of the animals in the wild.

Not many of us can pull up a photo of a lion from our files, wow.

I am a Leo, so maybe the photos of me are as close as I'll get. :)
