ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " X "

Two shots of the letter X. I like the repeated pattern of Xs
on this covered bridge.

This covered bridge is at the Empire Mine State Park in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
Be sure to check the others participating in the letter X and the last few letters of ABC Wednesday.
Go to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my side bar to see more pictures.

Beautiful covered bridge!
Do you know anything about its history? One of my grandfathers specialized in wooden buildings. To this day, I feel as if he touches me, when someone tells me that I am standing in front of a building drafted by him.

What an imaginative letter X! I've always been intrigued by those old covered bridges....
May you and your family have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

The roof on that bridge, looks like it has newer wood than the main structure, was the roof replaced or maybe it used to be an open bridge and the roof added later.
We have some wooden truss bridges here but none are covered.

Happy new year

I see there were a few comments about covered bridges, I know that New England and Maritime Canada (eastern canada) have covered bridges, I wonder if there are others in California, as I said in my previous comment, this may have been an open bridge.

X-ellent! That bridge was a perfect opportunity for you. I have to admit that I'd never have been able to pass those patterns.

Love that tree photo below, too.

Happy New Year from the ABC team!
