ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " R "

Today its again ABC Wednesday. Our letter for this day is " R ".
" R " is for fabric Remnants . These leftover pieces of fabric have ripples , ridges and rough edges that will find their way into the Remnant sewing pile for some future creation.
Remember to check Mrs. Nesbitt's blog on my sidebar for other " R " posts.
Enlarge this shot to see the textures of the Remnants.

Those are some lovely material. I wonder what beautiful things you sewn with them.

A creative R; it is interesting to see the varied textures of your remnants.

Good choice for our R-day. Are you going to make anything with these remnants?

Hilary said...

And what have you sewn with that material before it became remnants?

I'm afraid I can't resist buying remnants of gorgeous fabric, always with ideas of what I'm going to make with it.... sometimes it gets used, but it often sits in the sewing box for a long long time.

That looks like moire, which brings back memories of a blue moire dress I had in college. Creative post!
(I didn't do an R this week, but I'll be back next week.)

Great and creative idea. Your remnants look so much tidier than my scrap-bag!
On behalf of the ABC Team, I'd like to thank you for your continued participation.

You know, after my mother died I had to find a new home for all her sewing stuff -- she had a serious collection of remnants... I managed to find a seamstress who took it all, including her sewing machine and all that stuff... Glad I didn't just have to throw it all out...

Nice picks for the letter "R".

Oh, perfect choice for R! I have always scoured the remnant bins in fabric shops and when I had little ones it was an added bonus to sew something wonderful for them for le$$. But just the beauty of the colors is enough.
Thanks for sharing. Happy Wednesday!

That is so clever of you to photograph REMNANTS.
Being as I am a sewer you can imagine the amount of REMNANTS I have in my sewing ROOM.

Gosh, I used to make a lot of things with remnants! It used to be possible to buy quite large pieces very cheaply and in the sixties when a dress could be made from a yard of fabric, well, that's what I did!

First thing I do, is looking at your photo. I am always having fun guessing which word you will have used. Today, clueless, that's what I was! :-)

Fabric is one of my favorite things... You can do so much with remnents...napkins, little pillow slips, etc.
