FALL FLOWER

Sometimes the back side of a flower is more interesting than the front.
I believe this is a Dahlia and I loved the star effect of the petals.
As always click on the picture to see the detail.
Mr. Mapper has some pretty awesome pictures up on his blog now. I especially love the one of Yosemite. Just click on his name in my sidebar to see his work.

A beautiful flower has two sides. Front and back. 99% of all photographers forget or have never seen the backside of a flower.

Thank you for your kind visits on my blog!
I have now our older daughter and her children here and next week we will get our younger daughter and her family here. We are very strongly inside the life :)

I love how you took the back-end of this shot - the star is just perfect!!

You are right, this flower looks very interesting from this perspective.
Thanks for commenting on my chestnut tree sketch. I like eating chestnuts boiled or roasted as a desert and also with a main course, with baked pork, chicken or duck (I mix them with potatoes that bake in the meat's gravy). I also like them as a desert, in a slightly sweet puree (preferably with a bit of vanilla, too) either simple, or with a bit of cream. Then there's the marrons glacées, but those I buy ready to eat, I never tried making them myself...

It is amazing to see a picture so fine that I can determine the type of flower just by looking at the back of it! Great dahlia photo - from a different perspective! My dad always grows the most giant and beautiful ones - I haven't had as great luck myself.
