MYSTERY FLOWER

When we were visiting the Empire Mine this last weekend I saw this flower and was fascinated by it. It looked like it was made from crepe paper and the petals were surrounding another flower.
Does anyone know what it is? The leaves have the look of a Primrose and the blossom was about a foot or so off the ground.
What ever it is , I think its quite lovely.

It is beautiful! Reminds me of the kind of flower that would be pinned on an old fashioned bonnett.

The leaf reminds of the hollyhock but the flower is a double so I am not sure what it is.

Beautiful mystery flower.
It looks just like the type of flower that we used to make to decorate cars for weddings.

Hi, I saw your comment on Bear Naked's page and I had to come over and meet you! I love anyone who takes pictures! I can't wait to go look at some of yours. Hope you are having a lovely friday! God bless!

Like all of the comments so far, I have no idea what you mystery flower is, but it is very beautiful!

Thanks for your comment on my political post. I well understand that many folks find politics difficult to discuss and tempers can flare quite easily. I also understand your difficulty in moving to the democrat side, as I too have the same apprehensions. Right now I can think of a multitude of reasons to not vote for either major candidate and what I am looking for is a good reason to choose the one TO vote for.

I'm no help with the flower and I wont be a photographer till I buy myself a better camera! But I can tell you I loved your Goblets. I did more than Glance at them!

Really, I thought it was paper! It reminds me of a dahlia, but the leaves and petal texture are all wrong...I am stumped!

Well, I'll add to the "no idea" column, but I look forward to hearing from someone who does know. I want one in my garden.

It looks like a multi-petalled hollyhock, but the leaves are wrong. Or it could be a multipetalled petunia but again the leaves are wrong. Would be interested to find out too. - Dave

Unfortunately I don’t know what this flower is but it definitely is lovely and interesting. It does look like it was made from white crepe paper. I like it very much.

When I first saw your pic, I thought crepe paper too! But no idea what the flower is. Very pretty though! nice photo!

It kind of looks like a peony, but I am no expert, although I do have a peony on the side of the house which looks a lot like this only pink and blooms early, in the Spring.

Yes, it is lovely and it is a mystery. Doesn't appear as though any of us can solve it for you.
