ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " I "

I found this vintage ink bottle and ink pens at an historic home located at Lake Tahoe last month.
One interesting thing to me was the day and date on the old non-working clock on the desk.
What a perfect setup for ABC Wednesday and the letter I.
Please visit all the others who are posting their letter I's. You can find them by going to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar.
To see the detail just click on the photo.
Thanks for looking.

Oh, very nice! As a calligrapher, I collect old ink bottles. That one is very nice! Is there a date on it?

Nice post. I've never used an ink pen, but it would be cool to try one

Ink! Of course. This is definitely reminiscent of my early school days and ink stains on my fingers.

This brings back memories of my first years as a teacher in 1958. My pupils had to write with pen and ink, and that caused sometimes some minor problems, like spilling ink on clothes or breaking a pen.

Ah INTRIGUING! I remember learning how to write with ink by using a nib pen like those and dipping it into the ink well.

Oh sheesh! am I giving away my age? lol

I remember, when we had to write with those! Many times bottles fell down and oh, that mess then!
But what a pleasure, when letters came beautifully on a paper.

Fine photo about old and important things!

It is indeed a beautiful set up for ABC letter. As I can see the ink bottle and ink pens bring back memories to many of your blogging friends. I too remember using ink pens at school although it was with patrons filled with ink. I really liked to write with ink pen because my letters looked like more beautiful.

When I was in grade school (a million years ago) we still had those old desks with the empty hole for the ink bottle...   Had there actually been a bottle of ink I'm pretty sure any girl with pig-tails in the next desk forward would have gotten her pigtails dipped...

I love that old ink bottle! But I do have a think for old glass, particularly pressed glass, for some reason. I think it's just that it was mostly used for everyday objects. I like to think of my old glass as being in daily use by people who could have been my ancestors!
