THIS LITTLE PIGGY

Yesterday we went to the California State Fair. Hubby and I haven't been for at least ten years so it was fun to see how things have changed. We walked our legs off but had a really good time.
We stopped by the Livestock Nursery and saw these one day old pigletts and their huge Mama. I love the way they nestle together and sleep every which way. The coded markings on their backs tell the caregivers which innoculations they have received and their history.
As always to see the detail just click on the picture.

You're right. these little guys could fit in my pig house :)

These guys are so cute. Makes me want to hold one but I'm sure they aren't as cuddly as they look. Mama is HUGE!

Oh, this little piggie...how cute are they, and yes, that is a big mama. Great photo. I haven't been to the state fair since I was a child. Our county fair doesn't have hogs.

une belle famille a nourrir. C'est mignon quand c'est tout petit.

a beautiful family to feed. It is cuter when they're tiny.

When I see baby pigs I can understand how people adopt them as pets. They are more than cute.

Hard to believe how cute they are now and how big they will be....

Great picture...so glad you got to go to the fair. There is nothing quite like them.

Pigs are actually really intelligent animals, and contrary to popular belief, they are clean animals, always using the same corner for doing their "business".
When we had a small farm, we had piglets born, and some of them already had teeth so the teeth had to be snapped off with pliers or the mama wouldn't let them suckle!

Oh how lovely! Although we live in a wonderful village there is a pig farm up one of the lanes. It is an intensive farm and I hate Tuesdays when the pigs go to market. The noise is so upsetting.

Very cute little piggies, Sue. Thanks for stopping by and checking on me. I'm in your great state of Cali. and the closest I'll get to you is Tracy the week of Sept. 8!! I just checked Google, that's like an hour, no?? So close! :)

Oh, that is so cool...

I've never been to the State Fair -- why can't they schedule that when the temperature is below 100?

I enjoyed the Marin County Fair again this year, but of course the State Fair must be many times larger...

How precious. I remember a friend of my mother's that had a set of wooden piglets and she would let me play with then, I was probably 3 or 4 but I never forgot those little piggies.

Cute, cute, cute, cute, cute!

Even though I'm sure I'd be distressed to be near a pig in person, your photo makes them look adorable.
