NEIGHBORHOOD BALLOON WARS

As part of the neighborhood Fourth of July block Party - Water Balloon Wars was played.
Its hard to see, but the two dads are holding a rubber sling-shot device and the boy in blue has just pulled the sling-shot back (filled with a water balloon) and let go. The balloon was propelled down the street to another group of kids and their parents. Each tried to catch the water filled balloon but I'm sure you know what happened......splat......!!
Don't you love the anticipation as the kids watch their friends get wet?
You can also see that most of the kids are holding their ammunition, ready for their next turn.
Enlarge the picture to see the action and its easier to see the sling-shot drawn very taut.

That looks like so much fun! How neat to see the neighborhood playing together.

That sort of reminds me of the egg tosses we used to do.

I just found your blog an hour or so ago. I am so excited to see the Pedro Point Firehouse photo you have on it. Is there any way I may contact you privately to visit about it? My Uncle Bob was the Fire Chief of the Pedro Point volunteer fire dept., and my Dad was one of the volunteers. I would really love to be able to visit with you. Thanks!

We used to have one of those comtraptions when the kids were little. They thought it was so much fun. Looks like a good time.

I have been both the thrower and victim of many water balloons as a boy. Loved it!
