DRIED BUCKEYE LEAVES

I don't want to belabor the dryness but apparently the buckeye trees are the ones showing the most brown, dried leaves.
I'm not sure why they are failing . Does anyone know?
Be sure to enlarge this to see the detail.

How sad... I don't know these trees, but maybe they have higher water needs than the others and suffer more with the lack of it. It's very dry here too at this time of the year. And yet, many people still don't realize the need to save water...

Hi Sue - great to catch up again.

So sorry to hear about the drought and fires. We Australians can truly understand what you are going through. Hope it rains real soon!!!!

elle est belle, on dirait une toile de parachute.

it is beautiful, it looks like a canvas by parachute.

Delta has been dry as well, and the only reason my grass looks good is we have irrigation water, and lots of it from the snow pack. I thought it was going to rain yesterday, but it lasted all of 2 minutes. It has been good convertible weather however :)

It is sad to see so much devastation from the dry weather and the fires.

Last summer the southeastern US had a terrible drought and it took it's toll. They had to impose very severe water rationing where towns actually shut off the water supply during certain times.

Northeast GA is in a drought situation again although I don't think it's as bad as last year. I hope conditions improve soon.

The first that I though was that it looked like a parachute. The detail is phenomenal! Now, let the rain begin!

My hanging baskets are absolutely blooming to great hights this year...it is all down to the vast amount of rain we've had! Must take a photo!

We've had lots of rain this summer here in S Ontario... so my lawn is green (mostly weeds though0 and the trees are all green too. But those trees in your pictures are so dry, no wonder you are plagued with wildfires. I wish you could share in some of my rain.

This is why I love visiting CDP photo blogs. I learn so much. As a native "Buckeye" from Ohio, I didn't realize that Buckeye trees grew in California!!

This strikes me as very sad. I want to pour lotion on it and help those crusy dry leaves...like my hands sometimes in summer.

Fabulous detail in this shot! Those leaves remind me of the leaves we have in fall and winter.
I do hope you get some relief soon!

i know all that dryness is not good and I hate the thought of forest fires............but this shot is very poetic, Sue. I love leaves shot.......reminds me of my itch to see fall colors in Florida when there were hardly nay ........Am so looking forward to the fall here in Midwest. And you hit the nail on the head when u said that there may be a secret farm girl lurking inside me .....I think the same too and all this while I never knew about it!!!! :)
