TIME OUT FOR "ABC WEDNESDAY"

Sorry for my Time Out on Project Blue. Today its a post for ABC Wednesday, and the letter is T.
T is for Taffy.
This yummy Salt Water Taffy was in a huge barrel just perfect for gathering a bag full to take home. There have been some questions as to what Taffy is so here is the best description I can give. Its a very sweet, soft, extremely chewy--stick to the teeth candy. The candy gained its popularity when it was made and sold at carnivals and beach boardwalk arcades. I always loved the various flavors the Taffy came in but it always loosened my teeth fillings so I had to give up that yummy candy. This Taffy was watermelon flavored. I'm not sure how that one tasted.
Check out Mrs. Nesbitts blog to see the others posting their letter T pictures. You can find Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar under Favorites.
As always you can enlarge the picture to see the detail.

Oh man, it might take me a while, but I could go through that whole barrel of taffy, no problem...

I finally decided to join the ABC Wednesday bunch, so go see my T...   Actually I have two of them -- a Thinker for today, and a Tiger for tomorrow.   I remember you trying to get me interested in Mrs Nesbitt's ABC Wednesday a while ago.   Seems to be a popular spot...

Best regards, Don.

je ne connais pas, mais ta photo rend bien, on dirait des bonbons ?

I do not know. But your photo and the colors are good. it looks like candy?

Lynette said...

Super T idea--I've never seen taffy in those colors. The only taffy I ever saw back home in Mississippi was sort of creamy white.

About the truth about the goat, I saw the story on KGW at 11 p.m. There was surveillance video of the goat walking back and forth on the bus--I wonder when I'll be on a bus and see something like this?

Thanks for stopping by!

It's very colourful and looks delicious! However I've no idea what it is. I thought first:" Taffy is a Welshman!

We have toffee (basically sugar and water boiled until it becomes sticky and hard and pulls your teeth out too) - is it similar???

Oh I do love taffy, not sure about watermelon though.

Fun.

Photowannabe thanks for the visit! I am Dutch but I love Norway and always wanted to live there, but I married a Dutchman, who worked here. So we decided to go at least as much as possible to Norway. Thanks for the information on taffy. I know now: we call it toffee!

That's a great T - reminds me of when I was young - we would watch it being made at a shop by the beach!
