STILL LIFE

I thought I would post another fascinating display from the fancy flea market we visited several weeks ago. I think these people sold many items because of the artful way they highlighted them.
To see the detail just click on the photo.
Have a great weekend everyone.

That's so excellent. Love the pieces...but the background is just as lovely.

Presentation is everything :)

Just got back in town after 2 weeks of remodeling a home we have outside of Denver. Time to get the camera out!

Yes, I've heard that in sales, presentation is everything.

It is always in the presentation. No matter what -- photo, story, lady, man, socks, shoes, shirts, bras. If it isn't presented just right we would still be buying cookies and crackers in cardboard boxes just sitting on the grocer's floor like they did during World War II.

You just walked in, raised the lid to see what kind of crackers or cookies were in the box and then reached in with the hand that had the finger you just finished picking your nose with, and got some crackers or cookies and the grocer would count them as you dropped them in the paper sack. So much each or so much a pound. The price was always the same, clean hands and fingers didn't matter.

When somebody actually takes the time to write a comment on my blogs, about my work and what I do, that to me is the biggest gift a person can give another. It is like a smile and a hug; it is a welcome handshake: It gives me and my family some hope that the funny farm is still in the future.

You, yourself, are an inspiration to me.

Such beautiful things is like magic to me. It is impressive indeed.

I come back to say, "thanks for visiting and leaving a comment" but a special thanks for taking the time to photograph interesting things of great beauty. Without that, blogging would be about as exciting as trying to scratch an itch in the right place at the wrong time.

So, thanks for stopping at my blog. And I hope you know, by now, that when you do, I will always try to visit your blog, in return, and leave a comment. I do read what people write and your excellent photography got my attention.

Sincerely,

Abraham Lincoln

I would love to visit that flea market, spread out under the oaks. Your picture is wonderful - you too have the knack at presentation through the frame :)

you did a great job on this pic. I think you are right about fancy display resulting in sales. I have seen the same thing at our local flea market as well.

Cool shot! Love the way you used the frame to make it look like a photo of a photo.

They look like pewter. I have a small collection of pewter. I love the patina of pewter.

Nicely captured.
