VIEW OF THE ARCH
Another shot of the St Louis Arch. Several fellow bloggers said they went to the top of this in the little elevator. That's exactly why I didn't go. I don't do well with heights and close quarters. I'll do my pictures from the solid ground.

I still think this is some kind of an illusion. Nothing can stand up like that. Do you think?
I am not up to normal yet, so am only trying to pop in here and there. As I get better I will try to get back on schedule.
encore une magnifique de cette arche qui inspire beaucoup de monde. Tres beau le rayon de soleil qui tombe sur l'arche. Still a beautiful arch of this inspires a lot of people. Tres the beautiful sunshine that falls on the ark.
I was at the base of the Arch in 2002 but didn't go up... we were just passing through St Louis and too many people waiting in line... but we did look around the Lewis and Clark exhibition in the basement of the Arch... I learnt so much. I really didn't know anything about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, that's cos I'm a "foreigner".... from UK... didn't learn much USA history at school.
Strangetaste in St. Louis regularly posts the Arch--I think he's up to over 50 now. Have you visited him at all? I just read your comments on Moi's March 30th post and your comments about Door County. I was born there and spent much of my young life in that area; still have relatives there, too. It's been a regular summer trip to Washington Island off the tip of the Door. My grandkids love it.
i am tad scared of heights too but somehow "steel" myself for the sake of the views from high above!!!! now that we are 2 hours drive away from St Louis, we have been hoping to pay a visit to this architectural marvel..........i totally loved your yesterday's perspective of the arch ...."shining" shots of the arch!!!! :)
I have a passion for photography. I use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, so come with me and see Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West.

Both yesterday and today's photos are really good interpretations of an oft photographed monument. Well done!
The triangular shape of the "cross-section" is what I found so interesting when I was there -- totally unexpected... Your photo shows it well...
This is a fantastic shot of this arch, very nice! I've never been there, so I'll have to trust you.
I do not do heights either! Second rung of the ladder spaces me out! LOL!

It's hard to believe there is an elevator in that thing. I don't blame you for not going up.
You sure took a beautiful picture!
AWESOME PERSPECTIVE SUE! I love it!

That's some structure...I'd love to see it!!
Excellent.
I went up in that arch when I was a kid, maybe 12 or 13 years old.
It's perfect with the catch light. I too9 love to be at the SOLID ground.
Very nice!
That is an amazing picture! It should be on the face of a magazine.
Looks like something that would be on a postcard. I like it.fdxien
I have often seen tbis arch in movies or magazines, but this is by far the most striking view I have seen to date. It is an awesome picture.
