ST. LOUIS ARCH

A few years ago we were in St. Louis, Missouri and visitied the famous arch located by the Mississippi River. I leaned against the base and shot straight up the side of the arch. I like the abstract feel that I captured in this shot.
There just hasn't been time for me to go on a photo shoot so I'm sharing some of my pictures from the archives.
Try enlarging the picture to really get a feel for the texture of the metal arch.

And of course I am thinking and trying to imagine, what kind of the whole arch is.
the picture is like abstract painting and colors of Finland :)

An interesting shot. I had the opportunity to go to the top of the arch a few years ago when I was in St. Louis. Quite an experience.

Oh wow, what a shot... Makes me dizzy too...

I was back there in the late '60's and went up in one of the little elevators that reminded me of being stuffed into a washing machine... Looking out from the top was nerve-wracking, because I suppose I have a bit of vertigo -- as I'm sure most people do. It was great fun, but didn't get any pictures. Thanks for showing this amazing one.
