FIRST BLOSSOMS OF SPRING

I was looking out my window at our backyard and was so surprised to see two Almond blossoms in all their glory. I had to go out and take a picture of the first signs of Spring. Many of the other fruit trees are full of buds and will soon be showing their finest.
Be sure to see this one enlarged.

You are lucky to see them. If there is a hard freeze that lasts for several days then the chances are the tree itself will be lost. I lost an old Japanese Maple that was fooled by warm weather in January last year and it leafed out. Too bad. I hope you don't get the freeze.

Holy Moley, that's a sure sign of Spring, Sue. I think I'll go have an almond (or eight) in celebration.

The acacia trees have exploded around here in clouds of vivid yellow. I couldn't believe they popped out so early this year - it was early February! Weird weather. Your picture is beautiful as always.

Gorgeous shot. Is it apple blossom?
We are starting to get blossoms opening in sheltered areas.

Oh I cannot wait until my trees start to bloom! That's so pretty.

But today we finally got a real snowstorm so I will try to take advantage of it.

Nice composition. Have you tried using the "Auto Daylight Synchro Fill Flash" on back-lit blossoms to bring up more punch in the center of the flower. Regardless, this is an excellent shot and I really like your blog. I am a new nature and photo blogger and linked your page on mine.
